"Liverpool has some great back street pubs and Ma Egerton 's Pub is a particular favourite of mine. Located behind Liverpool Empire Theatre ,I love the look of the pub,the interior is superb ,a two roomed pub ,great decor and furnishings, all manner of photos of actors adorning the walls, a solid wood serving bar and plenty of seating options spread throughout this pub both inside and outside looking out onto the busy and bustling Pudsey Street. My twin brother Stephen and I were here on a Saturday afternoon and Ma Egerton 's Pub was busy with a great atmosphere, greeted warmly by a very pleasant member of staff who served us a real ale each ,we chose Hogs Back Brewery Surrey nirvana session ipa and these ipa 's were served in pristine condition, we just kicked back,chilled out and took in the great pub we were in while sipping our beers. My ipa was really good, a crisp,well balanced, full bodied ipa with a big hit of hops,a great aroma ,an absolutely classic British ipa ,its hardly surprising that this pub is so popular with real ales of this quality. We both really enjoyed our real ales in here and although we only stayed for the one ipa each before we moved on as on every other visit to here we had a great time. Ma Egerton 's Pub is easy to locate on Pudsey Street, its behind Liverpool Empire Theatre and across from Liverpool Lime Street Railway Station. Opening hours are; Monday to Sunday,11am till Midnight. A great pub ,one I highly recommend you visit if your in the area."

"We booked early and although the restaurant was almost empty the service although charming) was slow. When we wanted a quick lunch, we ordered sandwiches - my friend had a steak sandwich £10) and I had a club sandwich £11). Both were on thick cut sourdough, which was very difficult to cut/cut. My club sandwich was described on the menu as a chicken, egg, salad and bacon, but the egg was thrown and cold, no bacon, but ham, and the salad was tired and limp, so it was tasteless and boring. My friend's sandwich was also subdued with cold steak and sour wort. On the plus side our chips were good! We had both good food at previous visits, and really like the ambience, so it was a shame to find the food so disappointing."

"Beautiful staff at the place were great, there were only 3 stars, because I thought it was too expensive for what we got. we're not a big eater, but it was a little bit sparse. we all had lamb in different formats and it was nice."
