"Worse meal and service any pub it was a friends birthday treat could have cried We waited 55 minutes for meal to be told sorry printer broke down order not processed we will do straight away and give you free dessert 20 minutes later it arrived my friend scampi and chips my hunters chicken never have I seen anything like it was disgusting .My friend had to eat hers I finally got mine 1hour and forty minutes after ordering .Then asked for cream on pudding got ice cream never said anything asked for bill 15 minutes later still not received went to bar sorry forgot .So upset as was a birthday treat for friend what should have been a nice relaxing meal turned out to be a total embarrassment to me and a shambles .To add insult to injury they said hope you come back"

"Merchants is a restaurant and bar on Castle Hill and is an excellent place to visit and is housed in an historic old wine cellar that dates from This is an excellent place to visit and was a great place to find as...when we visited here the weather was foul and it was nice going into a nice warm restaurant and bar.When we visited we only stayed for a few pints of beer as we had already had a meal. On our visit we had a few pints of Jennings brewery Cumberland ale an excellent cask beer which were perfectly served and well priced. This is a superb restaurant and bar and in my opinion a must go place to visit for the beer enthusiast as they offer an excellent well kept beer range and if you are ever in Lancaster give this place a look you won't be disappointed.Easy to get to from China street bus stop its a minute walk.(This is my first review of Merchants Opening Hours. Nearest Bus Stop. China street bus stop."
