This place features spicy dishes originating mostly in central and western China: Hunan, Sichuan, Etc. My litmus test is always the Chengdu signature dish MaPo Tofu. It’s not difficult to make. I make it at home. Sadly, at Toro I rate it only 7.5/10. One hiccup; there was no Sichuan pepper in the dish. Another was; it wasnt spicy enough. MaPo Smashed Cucumber plain rice two Tsing Tao beers £29.60. That seemed a bit high to me. Decide for yourself."
