"The first time. I'm not impressed. The service was the only thing that was good at dinner. Drinks are good. They wouldn't serve a salad because the salad man didn't show up. Couldn't even make salad? There were only 4 tables with people who were not busy. The steak of the steakfries was served cold, although the frits were good. I had a better French onion soup and the beef burgundy was a bit salty. For a $100.00 dinner it was far below par."

"We were undecided on where to eat then decided to stop here because it smelled so inviting as we walked past. We sat outside on the sidewalk. My husband and I both ordered fish n chips. It was OK nothing to rave about. Our companions ordered the salmon and clams both were pleased with their meals. We all agreed, though, that the mini skillet brussels sprouts appetizer was amazing! Friendly service, nice location, prices about what you'd expect for the area."

"As the reviews show, Sun Deck delivers in that scene from the tourist magazine of San Diego where you are enjoying drinks by a firepit at the beach watching the sunset. Now obviously there is a price for this. First, the tables are first-come-first-serve. And naturally, you have parties that literally squat forever at the corner locations or where the wind blows the least. Second, the prices are high for tapa-style finger food to accompany drinks. And because they're so, the portions aren't big either. Again, you do not go to Sun Deck for the food, and whatever food that may come out, they'll go cold fast anyways. You go to Sun Deck for that magazine shot and to feel like you're living life to its fullest in San Diego. A great place to go outing with a group of friends. Not so much as a restaurant. One exception to this: the falafels on the Mezze Platter is out of this world. Not sure if they bought it from a local shop but it almost felt out-of-place to be so crunchy and flavorful."
