"Small restaurant in the water with a small but well thought-out menu. The fish of the day was Icelandic cod and it was exactly prepared as I had in Iceland. The bed of vegetables and the puree were delicious. My only explanation is the buffalo mozzarella salad. There were very little tomatoes and a small amount of mozzarella. It was more of a side salad than an appetizer. The cheese cake for dessert was fabulous. I definitely go back."

"The old place gave way to a not so old building but all the pictures and stories from the old days were transfered on the surrounding walls... The younger and more dynamic staff that prepare the greasy stuff are kind and nice. The poutine is...a must but they really do try to achieve the top quality in everything on the menu. For the type of food versus the quantity received I'd have to say that the prices are high. But, overall it's a good place... Downside: Getting in and out of the parking when trafic is high is really a mess..."

"My wife and I recently had lunch at La Fringale on Highway 116 East in McMasterville. My wife had the smoked meat and fried what she said was very good and I had a all dressed hamburger with fried. I found the hamburger small and light... undercooked and was overwhelmed by the spices. Good, but not great. All dishes were served with a huge amount of frits that use a strategy that some restaurants to cover for an inadequate main dish. In my opinion, the best local burgers in the l'Etoile St-Hilaire are located on the outskirts of St-Hilaire on the 116. In addition, as we ate outside, we found that there are many wasps around the dining tables. There's obviously a nest somewhere that didn't care about it."

"Nous sommes entassés au bar sur des tabourets durs, il y a un chansonnier qui prend les demandes spéciales et pousse des chansons à répondre du genre «les femmes seulement, ok les gars à c't'heure !», on ne s'entend pas parler. Une cuisine ouverte où l'on voit le personnel s'affairer en t-shirt sans filet ni tablier... la nourriture est exposée à tout ce qui peut flotter dans l'air de ce bistro bondé. Il fait chaud et ça sent les fumées de cuisson. Ne sortez pas dans un bar après: allez vous changer et vous doucher. Clientèle trendy ou qui cherche à l'être... Ambiance de cabane à sucre. Menu varié et intéressant mais la livraison est très moyenne pour le prix payé. Entrée rémoulade céleri rave avec une cuillère à soupe de thon (?) qui goûtait la crémeuse de St-Hubert. Le ris de veau à l'érable était bon. Le magret de canard baignait dans une sauce à l'orange forte qui masquait le goût et rappelait par sa couleur la sauce VH aux cerises. Dessert communautaire en vrac sur une planche... avec une cerise de terre tout de même. Service correct. «Bells and whistles» comme disent les anglophones. 135$ pour deux, et on apporte son vin."
