"We were years ago in to the crown and wanted to come back now where we were in the opposite.The restaurant is beautifully decorated; the front part is a bar area, in the rear part of the business there are some tables in a more closed area. the menu is typical German, also carving, but we have come for it. tasty, well-panned and delicate carving served with a delicious salad and tasty pommes of service is correct, but not cordial; the dame seemed a little merciful, otherwise the full score would have been present."

"The ambiente is very beautiful in this historic building that makes a very well maintained impression. a reservation seems recommended. we were there on Sundays at lunchtime, and the restaurant was full. the quality of the food is very good, both tastefully and visually from the preparation. The only weak point for us was the long waiting period of around minutes for us until the food was served."

"We came in passing to have a drink with a beautiful view of the river. Then had really wonderful glasses of wine but Josef is such a great host we stayed for dinner. Simple food, done well. Josef is a legend, you feel completely at home!"

"A restaurant is no better located, with a breathtaking view of the city of Bernkastel-Kues and its vineyards.
