"This is a small traditional restaurant, that can only seat around 20 people. The service was efficient, the food was cooked fresh but unfortunately the quality of the meal wasn’t too high a standard. The schnitzel wasn’t very tender and the sauce wasn’t too appetising either. The side salad was excellent though."

"Am 09.07.2017 hatten wir mit 6 Personen eine kleine Feier. Die Vorspeisen sowie die Hauptgerichte kamen alle gleichzeitig an den Tisch. Sämmtliche Gerichte von hoher Qualität. Alles wie bestellt. Die Steaks genau auf den Punkt. Freundliche Bedienung.Leider Ohne Resevierung kein Platz zu bekommen weil ein echter Geheimtip."

"Although Jay and I are regular visitors to Mittenwald we had not been in the Hochland before, (there are so many great places to eat and drink here). On our first visit we were all made really welcome by the very cheerful owner, Rita could not have been more pleasant. We enjoyed it so much that we decided to book a table later in the week ensuring that Jay would get a vegan meal of her choosing. Our choices were Spaghetti with tomato sauce for Jay, Steaks for our friends and Ritas recommendation of the local fried meat specialty for me with local beer, great. This is very much a locals restaurant and can get very busy even on week day nights. The food, drink, service and whole ambiance was great, we couldn't have been made more welcome. If you're going to Mittenwald we can highly recommend this restaurant, we will be returning sometime soon."

"We ate there three times and have a good tour through Bavarian cuisine. schweinshaxe (pork knuckle) is incredible, and her postkellerpfandl is really one to enjoy. they have jägertee and a large selection of schnaps (hirschkuß is recommended and the service is also good."
