"I’ve lived nearby for years and wanted to try this place, so today I went in. Not only are the staff lovely, but the food and there hot drinks are really good!! I definitely recommend the creamy prawn udon and I saw a few people ordering their desserts (something I’ll do next time! I wish I had come here sooner, but regardless I’ll be a regular for sure. "We have been to Soko a few times now and they have value for money BBQ meat sets available. The place is looking pretty run down though with seat coverings that are coming off and taped up ceilings. Service remains unchanged with staff not being very hands on with the cooking process. <br/ <br/ Having said all that though, the food continues to be delicious. On our most recent visit, we had the fried chicken with spicy sauce which was packed with flavour. The bulgogi stew was tasty and had lots of beef in it. We had the BBQ beef set and portions were quite generous. <br/ <br/ Soko is still a good choice for Korean food. <br/ <br/ Previously:<br/ <br/ We came to Soko on their opening weekend a few months ago (note that the overall zomato score and reviews are also based on Soko 's predecessor Sut and Wine). We were totally underwhelmed by that first visit. Craving for some Korean BBQ, we decided to give Soko a second chance. <br/ <br/ Fortunately, it was a great decision. The food has certainly improved significantly and I 'm in love with their fried chicken boneless pieces of well seasoned and carefully fried tender succulent chicken...mmmm. <br/ <br/ The pork set was delicious but we were slightly disappointed by the wagyu set the beef was chewy. The kimchi soup was spicy and full of ingredients including seafood. And the kimchi was addictive. <br/ <br/ The main down point was the not very attentive service. Expect to cook your own meats even though Soko appears to be adequately staffed they seem to like to congregate near the entrance to exchange their stories of the day. <br/ <br/ Extra points for their 'live ' musician it made our second Soko experience very pleasant."

"Going out for dinner is not always about a big event with formal dresses, make-up and wine. Sometimes, you just want to grab a quick bite in your gym gear and be nourished by a quick, healthy and cheap meal. This is how I am at Bewon. Opposite the recreation centre in Hawthorn, and with the university nearby, this authentic Korean eatery is fast, tasty, casual and cheap."

"Have been to this restaurant for several times. The service here is always great. When I ask if they can give me some tomato sauce for the katsu don, they give me both the katsu don sauce and tomato sauce. Some restaurant I 've been, they either charge you extra dollars for tiny sauce, or they just too lazy to give you one. They also serve free miso soup sometime for dishes. Their lunch bento box is extremely great, for only $12 dollars, you can have 'double level ' katsu. It 's really plenty!! And yummy for sure.<br/>Highly recommend for people who loves Japanese food :"

"My favourite pho place in Bentleigh. I visit here at least once a fortnight. Exactly the authentic way cooking at my hometown. I bring my friends here sometimes to try all different dishes. I would like to recommend lemongrass chicken, beef stew noodle,...And my favourite Korean dishes: kimchi stew, beef rib spicy. Service is speedy and friendly. See you guy again soon."
