"We typically visit the Ashton Pub every year on an annual snowmobile trip. This visit was not pleasant from start to finish. When we entered the restaurant we were told we had to leave our helmets at the front (which was fine .. we understand) but the response from the hostess was “I don’t care” when we mentioned they were quite expensive. Coming from the service industry, I was very taken aback as we’ve never been greeted with that sort of tone before. Our server was also not pleasant. She was always in a rude sort of rush and really was not attentive. The pub wasn’t manic busy, so it was a bit confusing. By the end of the visit we were not impressed and honestly quite uncomfortable we tipped 10% on our bill and the server shook her head and walked away. The tip was reflective of the service provided and attitude. The server made $40 dollars off our table and we were in and out in 1 hour. At the end of the lunch, I spoke to the bartender, who was very lovely and explained the situation. She was very accommodating. I know everyone has their off days but I think servers here need to remember that being kind can go along way in a service related position. If you aren’t willing to be kind, maybe find a different profession with less human interaction. The world is tough enough right now we should all be nice to one another. Hopefully our next visit will be more positive."
