"Lovely Sunday dinner and great service. The chefs Ant and Cody worked wonders in the kitchen and we enjoyed a great roast beef dinner with fab roast potatoes and Yorkshire puddings topped off with a sticky toffee pudding to die for."

"Ordered a delivery 2 hours later the guy turns up. Couldn't get through on the phone. Had to cancel. Guy turned up 2mins later. Sorry but had to turn him away, not his fault, but service and waiting time were simply unacceptable and needs to be looked at by the owners. 2 hours to deliver food is just not good enough. Sorry I cannot recommend. Food: 1 Service: 1 Atmosphere: 1"

"Though presently dealing with the latest restricted service and the implications it brings they are still friendly and with excellent service, with a smile! I usually go in for a coffee and a chat whilst it is being made. Shame presently that they cannot serve food as when they do it is really good. Massive range of ice creams there and also some sorbets available. Nice to see some children and adults choosing their own mixture of ice cream to have."

"First time in this, as it turned out, wonderful cafe. Looking at the menu we ordered the breakfast and the mushrooms on toast topped off with the most perfectly cooked poached egg. Both meals were well cooked and were extremely tasty. Even though we live 30 minutes away We will return very soon."

"Booked twice for here cancelled on me at the last minute thus ruining two days off. Not even an apology or willingness to enter into any dialogue by the owner. I used to visit quite often and this was one of my favourite places now I wouldn’t waste my time or money. Happy to share a chronology and several emails if the owner wishes to dispute this review."

"I first visited with friends on Halloween and we had an amazing night. We recommended it to our friends and family and so a group of 9 of us visited again last night as it was karaoke and we 'd had such a good time at our last visit we were looking forward to another good night. Unfortunately, one of the bar staff was extremely rude to a member of our group who had just walked in and demanded that she go and buy a drink at the bar as you can 't just come and sit in here and not buy a drink . Myself and two others had already been there for about half an hour and had purchased drinks as soon as we walked in. Our friend had every intention of going to the bar but came to greet us first and as you do, you get chatting. She must have been sat there for 5 mins if that before she got a tirade of abuse totally humiliating her in front of us and the rest of the people that was sat in our room. Even people who weren 't with us looked shocked at the outburst. I understand if they have a policy that you must purchase a drink if you 're sat in the pub, but it was the way that it was said and the attitude that was with it. Ive seen previous reviews about racism and its funny how she was targeted being one of the two members of our group who is black. We decided to stay as we were also there to support the dj who was absolutely amazing and made our night. It 's really disappointing as the last time we went in we left thinking what a great place it was. After last night we will not be returning"

"Called in here again this week , unfortunately work keeps me from going in more often , food is amazing quality and great value , met my son in here as we was both local with work , he chose the pudding and chips while I had fish and chips Excellent excellent food Change from £20 for the food that would cost double elsewhere Not about the money tho , this is a great pub with the hardest working landlord and landlady I’ve ever seen in a pub , and I’ve been in plenty Excellent friendly staff who all know there jobs Great beer at great prices Other pubs in Bury should copy the model they have at the White Boar As soon as I’m home more this will be my first port of call if I fancy a beer or a meal Home cooking with no washing up Look no further if in this area"
