"Loved the ambiance... the decor was very inviting made you feel submerged in a nautical escape. However, the AUCE is sub-par. The food was not cooked with season as the spices were added to the bag once done, which left for very blan seafood. The service was okay, but you had to get the attention of the wait staff in order to ask for refills. I thought that was disappointing as we had a group of 14 maybe a dedicated server should have been assigned as we made a reservation in advance. The 90 minutes is strict... so I suggest you start a timer on your watch to make certain you are cognitive of allotted time frame."

"I stopped by for a snack after going to the farmers market. I ordered a curry chicken patty and it came out warm and tasty. The outside was flaky and chewy, the filling had lots of flavor, and the chicken was tender. It paired nicely with the vinegary hot sauce, which reminded me of tabasco. They have a seating area outside too, so it's perfect for a quick bite or meal!"

"Was a unique experience. Some exhibits were more interesting than others. Tickets were easily available. Not sure how often I'd return unless it was a rotating exhibition. Wouldn't pay to go back at this point."

"We have been coming to Hook Reel since they first opened. We can tell there has been a turnover in staff since then. The quality has changed tremendously. We usually order a huge amount enough to feed 5-6 people. The serving we got for take out was enough for 1 person.Not sure how long this place will stay open since even the all you can eat isn’t bringing folks in anymore.Wish you guys the best but this was our last visit."

"I had a butternut squash soup at Smith's next door last year, and I couldn't stop thinking about it. It was the best soup I had ever had. Earlier this week, while in the neighborhood of 19th and Chestnut, I stopped by Smith's to see if they had the butternut squash soup. I was informed they didn't, and they didn't know if they would have it at all this year. I was very disappointed, but sat down for dinner and a beer anyway.
