"Hellers Beer garden in the Volksgarten is located directly at the lake in Volksgarten. In summer, it's crowded, but the beer tastes good. They even have some specialities from around Germany. Be prepared to walk around the place for a while, before you find a place to sit. The metal chairs are not comfortable, but the surrounding is great: The lake, animals like ducks, flowers, and such. The Volksgarten is also famous for gigantic barbecue parties of students, and people from around. Some of the food of Hellers Volksgarten is more like pub grub, but they also over salads, which are well done."

"Die Bar ist recht klein gewinnt aber im Sommer durch die große Außengastronomie, direkt vor der Bar. In der regel wird die Bar von Schwulen und Lesben bevölkert, aber auch immer wieder verlieren sich hier Heteros hin. Das mag daran liegen das es hier ungemein freundlich und verbindlich zugeht. Man kann hier einen Kaffee trinken wenn man auf den Bus wartet oder auch am Abend auf ein Kölsch hier vorbei gehen. Besonders zum PRIDE COLOGNE platz die Bar aus allen Näten, weil sie unmittelbar an der Parade Strecke liegt."

"In one of our wondering walks we found this restaurante. Returned for dinner (being Latin, we tend to eat dinner late, so when we arrived around 8 p.m. it was empty). We are a family of 5, and all asked for diferent meet plates. I asked for a portk shop and (imagined it would be a scrawny little chop). To my surprise it was a THICK chop, served with a baked patato (with butter) and some vegies and salad. The guys asked for serloin steaks and they were eaqually happy with the meal. The price was aceptable for the meal - for 5 we paid just under 60. Really liked the service too."
