"Came with a large group of people so we sat downstairs. After waiting a while for somebody to come take our orders, one of us went upstairs to be told that we each need to come upstairs to place our orders because they are too busy . Hire more staff if you are too busy to send someone downstairs to take our orders. When I went upstairs to order my food, I asked what is included in The Big Daddy . Gentleman at the register first told me one thing, then another, then another. I couldn 't get a straight answer about what was or wasn 't in the meal. At this point, I had been taking so long to try and order my food and there was so many people waiting behind me all of my friends who had to come up to take their order because nobody would come down to take our orders), I stepped aside to try to find something else on the menu to order. While I was looking through the menu again, I overheard that they do not even serve free water. I have never eaten at a restaurant that does not provide complimentary water. At this point, I chose to stay just to be with my friends but did not order anything. Such poor customer service does not deserve my consumer dollars. When THEIR food came however, many of them complained that their burgers and their sandwiches were over cooked. When one of us went upstairs to communicate this to them, they argued that this is just how they cook their food. It was only when one of us who knows the owner personally went upstairs to talk with him and tell him that this isn 't cool, we were told that we did not have to pay for the overcooked burgers and sandwiches and that we could just order something else off the menu. Some of our drinks didn 't arrive as well. Had to go upstairs to ask for them after waiting for long enough to realize that they weren 't coming. Of course,nobody ever came downstairs to make sure everything was ok, presumably because they were too busy , but when I went upstairs, two of the staff were playing on their phones. It was not a good experience. There are many restaurants in Taichung that provide better customer service than my friends and I received tonight."

"Really wanted to try this place after the good reviews but was really let down. Ordered ribs and brisket. Brisket was OK, a bit flavorless but the fat melted nicely. The ribs were probably the worst I've ever had; they're supposed to fall off the bone, these were dry, tough and just tasted of smoke. There was a good selection of beers, some nice ones. 260 for a beer would be over-priced if it wasn't BOGOF. Service was OK, but I just couldn't get over how terrible the ribs were and overpriced. Overall beer OK, food a let down."

"Best burger This place provides you the pinnacle of any burger experience you can have in Taichung county, at least. While all around the city is likely to find tasteless, frozen, sad paddies, here you have a vibrant, delicious, juicy fatty one. Rarely a man can find such a genuine, primitive experience comparable to Taihu's burger"

"Isman has a refreshingly barebones liquor selection. Essentially three drinks are on the menu, whiskey, beer, and cider. No wines, no cocktails. Just whisky, beer, and cider. That being said the bartending staff, is knowledgeable about what they have on the shelf. The bartender I had today, was a whiskey ambassador, similar to a wine sommelier. He knew what he was pouring, and had designed several whiskey tasting sets that looked really tasty. The atmosphere was very nice, calm and relaxed. Simple music filled in the silence without covering up conversation. Great mood. Great bar. Update: in the past two weeks ISMAN has added an event space with capacity for 24 people. It has a nice hip atmosphere and comfortable seating. My whisky Club rented the room and held a tasting there, and I can guarantee we'll be back."
