"Visited Dungeness on 28/12, followed signs to pub, not expecting it to be open, but yes it was. We were only ones in there initially and there was a lovely log fire, which we sat next to. Asked if we could have food and was told, if we were happy to wait 30 mins, then yes, so we sat and had a lovely hot chocolate and chatted to very friendly barman. We ordered fish finger sandwich, which came with chips and salad, couldn’t fault it, the fish was battered and like a goujon, plenty of it in the sandwich. Clean toilets too. By the time we left, the place was filling up. Our experience was very good, our expectations to be truthful weren’t that high, but we were grateful that it was open at least, but overall nothing to complain about."

"Just had a lovely visit, sat outside in the sun watching the many cyclists go by. Got chatting to a couple of locals (with their Jack Russell) who were really friendly. As was the owner and other local customers that came in and out. Certainly made us feel very welcome. Also great coffee and tea and nice to get a biscuit with it too. So many places don't provide that little extra bit of hospitality. We'll be returning to try the cake next time"

"We went here on a Sunday morning because nowhere else seemed to be open and we wanted to walk along the nearby canal and up the hill afterwards. We both had a fry up, it didn't say it came with toast, so I ordered toast as an extra but it did come with toast! However I didn't eat mine, oddly it was only toasted on one side. My beans were cold, mushrooms tasted of cold oil, and the sausage mushy but the bacon and egg were nice. I would visit again but only for a hot drink and biscuit. Venue was clean, nice toilet and friendly staff although they were both in the kitchen and unaware of the building queue at the counter!"
