"We ate last night from the seven course tasting menu. Food overall was very good indeed. In particular the amuse Bouche or salt cod brandade in a pie shape tremendous flavour. Pigeon lovely flavours. Tortellini was outstanding. Sorbet was very good indeed. Parfait was good but the little puff candy was hard. Blue cheese to complete was very good.. Flight of wines complemented the food. Waiting staff were outstanding. Bar service was very good too. Such a lovely building it's not surprising that the hotel constantly receives awards."

"We were staying in the hotel and had dinner and breakfast in the restaurant. Both meals were very good with friendly staff. Dinner menu is focussed towards meat eaters but we had lovely fish and vegetarian dishes. As it is fixed price for 2 courses at dinner then it does seem expensive for non meat eaters especially when adding in cost of side dishes. Food was lovely though and beautifully presented. Great views over the golf course and up to the buildings of St Andrews itself."

"I was there on a very windy afternoon and found the indoor bar quite cozy. It seemed to be a family-run place and was both efficient and friendly. They cheerfully went above and beyond by mailing a special water bottle that I accidentally left there. I live in the US and had already left Burntisland, so returning to get it was not an option for me. That simple act of kindness speaks volumes about the character of the place and its people. The drinks were also quite good ."

"She says: this place was friendly, eating was good and we had a nice time. I wanted to give a good overview of our 22oz porterhouse, although I had still starving at the end. it wasn't wrong with it, but we had ordered more for two big eaters that scrub like them. there were 70 pfunds for the porterhouse, 2 pages and 2 bites. a cheeseboard was amazing as a desert and a great part. other customers ask to see the meat options before they choose .. would have done that he said eating is okay. the sides were average, red wine jus was more bark meat than red wine. porterhouse bark was cooked to order (medium rare) and really delicious. were it worth the 70 pounds? probably not. in other restaurants that offer more for less."
