"I ordered the seniors’s silver meatloaf meal at $11.99 including drink before tax. The only positive things I can say about it are the staff was friendly, and the meal did not make me sick. The food did taste OK but it was nowhere near the usual Sals standards. The portion was not just small, it was tiny if not minuscule. It would not be enough to feed a 5 year old child.. Under-portioned when compared to what they used to serve earlier in the COVID-19 pandemic. The plating looked barren and unappetizing at best. That hungry 5 year child could have done a better job of setting up the meagre serving presented. I think that if this is what Sals is now calling a senior dinner, the full size full price serving will likely be even more disappointing in value, and professionalism. Perhaps it is time the Sals should go back to its burger roots, and stop doing anything more complicated. The people I was with had burgers which were more up to the usual Sals meal standards. The burger plating was way more appetizing and the total meal was clearly more filling. I find it hard to belief Sals can forget how to commercially do meals. If this is an aberration due to a poor kitchen at this visit, that still leaves me feeling unsatisfied with my experience today. I am not certain I will waste more money on other than burgers there. It seems Sals is suffering from its very own version of a pandemic inspired professional food deficiency. There is no genuine excuse for the the joke they called their senior meatloaf dinner Go there for their nips, and sides. But wait for them find a vaccine for their other dinners. Though it was tasty and did not cause sickness, it could hardly be called a real meal."

"Have not had this level of poor service in a long time! Orders came out haphazardly, orders were incorrect, water for tea was only tepid. The waiters were unsure of what items were vegan friendly. One person in our party ordered waffles and fruit toppings. He waffles eventually arrived and the waiter promised to be right back with the fruit topping. To the point where the rest of the party finished eating, the fruit still did not arrive! Sausages were delivered where bacon was ordered. One order for tea was forgotten. The first order arrived some 35 minutes after being placed. We we rushing to the airport and had to abandon the waffles and fruit so the person had to have the order removed from the bill and leave without food! Hard to get a he attention of a waiter as everyone working there buzzing about in confusion."

"Very reasonably priced breakfast menu with lots of choices. Service was great! North end breakfast, breakfast sandwich, blueberry pancakes, French toast, omelettes and bannock! After reading the lunch menu, I do think that I will return. Gift shop adjacent to restaurant on the second floor and grocery store/bakery on main level offer an added attraction. Lots of free parking beside the restaurant."

"I'm not sure what happened to Perkins as a chain. I remember going there as a kid and thinking the food was really good. Thought that it was time to go back.I was so excited because pirogies were on the menu. So, we ordered pirogies, salad and soup (tomato-based). The pierogies were pretty industrial and the salad (chef) pretty basic. What is also sort of weird is the bathroom is shared with a bar. There is a lot of construction around this Perkins so its not obvious to access.On the plus side, the servers were pleasant."

"Salisbury House has been a tradition of Winnipeg for many years. Most people would eat here after a night out as you could order anything from poached eggs on toast with awesome shredded hash browns to a steak if you desired, but most would have the Salisbury Nip and fries (burger a fries with salt and vinegar, soaked to the limit - your choice) and gravy if you wished. Long story short you can order whatever you want late into the evening before you retired for the evening - soul food if you wish."
