"I leave only one star because there’s not a no Star option. When I was younger, this used to be the spot where my family and I will come have breakfast I moved out of the area and decided to stop by today for something small I ordered French toast. I’m a French toast person. But the French toast they gave me was really bad. I felt like I was eating wet slimy bread.I ate One out of three French toast paid and left ,me as a server. I always make sure that the food was OK and no one bothered to ask if it was OK. Very disappointed."

"These pancakes are AMAZING! The pancake house produces fluffy, soft and delicious buttermilk pancakes that are truly perfect. Their signature apple pancakes are so rich and dense so if you want a different style of pancakes they offer it too. There is a bit of a queue if you get here early but it is worth the wait"

"The food is always served hot and fresh. The service is always prompt, attentive, and friendly. My favorite dishes are: hot turkey open face sandwich which is served with delicious mashed potatoes and gravy, the big man which is a breakfast that fills even the hungriest of my appetites, and any of their soups. There is nothing finer on a sunny morning than eating on their clean outdoor patio which is also dog friendly. It's worth a trip no matter where you are in the city. If there is only one place you go to for breakfast in Chicago make it The Alps."

"1.13.2022 Awful food Experience. Ordered the Fried Perch Entrée: Instead of the Golden Brown shown on the Menu. The perch was the color of Burnt Brown. There was even Black edges. Also Ordered French Onion Soup: The soup was Black in color. It had a Burnt taste, as though it had stayed on the stove too long. The Flavor was primarily burnt with a hint of Onion. This was a takeout order at night. The next day when I tried to return it Mgmt refused to give a refund. They said they would do the order over. They returned the new order in about 5 min and It looked just like the order I returned with all the same problems. I have lived in Hyde Park for 25 yrs and visited Mellow Yellow over the years Except for the last couple of years due to the Pandemic. After this recent visit, I want be returning."

"I can't wait to go back! The food and service were absolutely wonderful. Everything we ordered was delicious and the preparation perfect. The staff couldn't have been more friendly and accommodating. And .... one of the best chocolate mousse desserts I have ever had. This was our third visit and each has been outstanding."

"Came here by myself with two 5 year olds. The hostess and waitress were both very attentive to make sure everything was alright for my table. They had coloring books and crayons for the kids too. The Turkey Sausage Scramble and the French toast were both very tasty."
