"Looking for an inspirational lunch we decided to have a look inside ,very busy lots of smiles why not.We ordered the Burrito bowl and the Ramen. After quite a long wait our food arrives ,the Ramen with thick pieces of pork rather hard to...cut and a bit chewy, hard boiled egg and a rather insipid stock unfortunately a little under inspiring. The Burrito bowl looked like the kitchen was running out of stuff ,chicken tenderloins cooked nicely but no real limey flavour.rice ,just rice avocado fresh, salsa some fine chopped tomato not much else and not what you would normally expect from an asian travellers bowl try the Vietnam taxi driver meal at Walk the Talk in Verdun its wonderful).so they need to step up a bit more seasoning ,flavour delicate and tasty is the order of the day and even though i was 2mins late back to my park i didn't get a ticket, hoorahh."

"Hail to Volcano Ramen!! always my favorite every time I go there! their bento are yummy as well. They have many options if I compare than the other branch at Regent Arcade. the only problem for me is they can not do split bills,it is hard for us if we come with group. So far so good and will come back for sure :"

"Amazing atmosphere, interior design and food. We got the French onion soup and duck. It even came with gluten free bread which was nice. As I’m GF. The staff are not the friendliest though."

"Tucked away down Field Street, behind Gaucho's and opposite a factory wall, Wasai is situated in what looks like a fairly non-descript building and at first glance might not seem all that promising.

Wander inside and you're in a little patch of Japan. Friendly service and attentive staff seat you at proper tables with proper chairs. None of those god awful pits and taking your shoes off and so on that were all the rage in Japanese restaurants a few years ago - yes yes, I know it's all terribly authentic, but really....

Four of us decided to go with the Banquet and in case there wasn't quite enough food - we've had bad experiences with so called "banquets" in the past that left you feeling hungry - we added a couple of entrees. Gyoza (because we like gyoza) and karaage (because it sounded like upmarket popcorn chicken and who could say no?

Then the food started arriving. First, about five plates of entree sized serves to share. Soba noodle salad, all sesame oiled up with cherry tomato and avocado. The gyoza, crispy and plump with a beautiful dipping sauce. Creamy tofu, lightly battered an fried, sitting in a soy broth. The karaage chicken, plump little pieces of chicken in a crispy batter. An enormous boat filled with sushi and sashimi, tempura, a seafood broth, teriyaki chicken.

It was a table groaning collection of food and all of it prepared with care and the freshest of ingredients. We ate far more than we thought we could and just enjoyed it all. Although there were desserts on the menu we decided against it (the "wafer thin mint" effect) but they sounded pretty good.

All up with a few drinks, $160 which, for the quantities of food we received, the quality of the ingredients and the care in the presentation seemed more than reasonable. You could go to one of the conveyor belt sushi places and fill your belly for less money, but you wouldn't remember it afterwards.

This WAS a memorable meal."
