"Very good food with many vegan options, even the soft ice cream. Nice concept that all four stores work together. The service ranged from extremely friendly to a bit listless. Prices are high, but in our opinion reasonable for what is on offer. Vegetarian options: There are some vegan dishes. "Recommended by our hotel and close to where we were staying, we decided to eat at the Eisenach Hof. The menu was a bit of a challenge, all written in German and some old German printing like my German language text book many years ago. I figured out a couple of dishes and the waitress helped. My husband had the Bratwurst which was delicious at less the €6 and I had a beef roullade. A bit more expensive and a bit dry. Should have ordered the Bratwurst. But the accompanying red cabbage was absolutely superb. Coffee and dessert, try the baked apple with custard which is brought to you table in a dish of flaming custard. Coffee very good too. Liked the atmospheric middle ages decorations, but maybe too tired to really appreciate it. But we did enjoy our dinner."

"After a hike we are still on a coffee, an ice cup and a piece of cake. The cake (heated room) was absolutely delicious, the ice cream (yogurt cup) was super delicious and the operation absolutely nice and friendly. The selection of cakes and ice cups was fantastic. Nice little cafe to ask."

"One only needs to be a modest history buff or a slightly romantic soul to enjoy the Wartburg by itself. If such pleasures are compounded by tasty food, even better. The staff was friendly (they accommodated us as outsiders although dinner was being served to...regular hotel guests) and the quality of the food was well above the average of the region; with the spectacular views all over Thuringia included for free it was a lovely, unforgettable experience."

"While the wine list is very extensive, we have tried the wee from the region Saale-Unstrut, east of here and one of only two wine regions in the former ddr. the Pinot-Gris Grauburgunder was quite good while the luther wine, named after martin luther, one. the most famous inhabitants of the city, was also very interesting, although from a new variety cabernet mitos liked both the forelle and the bark in red wine sauce; also, the Vitello Tonnnato was quite good."

"This was the best of 5 hotels visited on my short tour of East to central Germany. You will be happy to stay here before heading in to town for the delights of Eisenach. But a fair trek up the driveway you'd better have...a meal in town. The price is great if you like a scenic walk. Bus 10 is a help."
