"Real deal here. This is a place locals Love. I remember the first time I had a Habys pastry. Sadly, it was at work, but it came at a perfect time because I was having one of those days. And then someone nearby said, Hey. They have Habys in the breakroom. I said, I hope they get a shot! And they said, what?! No. It 's a German bakery. Have you had their donuts.? Completely ignoring them after hearing the word donut, I sprinted to the break room to find an unassuming plain white box with no one around and 1 donut left. Mine! I took my first bite and it was an out of body experience. Greased sugar completed me. And my only regret was there was not another. I returned to my work cubicle swiftly and asked those around me with impassioned fervor, WHERE IS THIS HABYS YOU SPEAK OF?! Quickly they said Castroville, which I repeated, incorrectly, and they corrected me, and I again mispronounced it because that towns name is stupid. Then I asked for directions and I was all set. I literally just ate one of their peanut butter cups, and OMG, Yes. My tastebuds are in heaven, again. God bless America... and Habys! Disclaimer the fact that I 'm 5% German, no, Germans don 't call themselves German From Deutschland has not influenced this review in any way. We 'll, maybe 5%..."

"Great eating in a rustic place. the restaurant has been open for a year, and people find it out. it is a few blocks from the main road from a church and a school. if they are not careful, they may not know it is there. very good food and positive, friendly service."

"AWESOME. This place rocks! Talk about a way home! The waiter is really good and the salad bar is the hands below the best in Medina Co. The nachos are the BEST DAM BYOS in TEXAS! The terrace is really nice and looking for cowards to rent it for a party I want to have soon."

"Mold on my sandwich today... I've had issues before with the staff I think it was just one lady that works there. Every time I went in she was there and had the attitude of someone who absolutely hates their life. I work for a home warranty call center ok, I know customer service and I know what she provides is not it. I digress, mold on my sandwich is one that has become the cherry atop this shit sundae. I will never eat here again... sorry let me say that a bit clearer *ahem* I WILL NEVERRRRR EAT HERE AGAIN just saying. And let me tell you it's never been the best but pretty damn good when your teen only likes turkey sandwiches FFS do better on your quality control my dudes."

"Though my salmon burger was cooked well. It was priced at $20. A little steep for Castroville. Don't you think? The pull pork was way too salty. My husband couldn't eat it."

"We are so glad that we finally made that was food amazing, my wife had the chicken pot pipe that was mouthwater, I should say that it was one of the best I had, I had the club sandwich that is really good to... can not wait to try the beef stew, meat loaf and burgers."

"The cioppino is delicious and the size is worth of the price, good for 2. They are very generous with the seafood in it. The crab legs are meaty and fresh. The soft shell crab sandwich is amazing too. The deep fried whole crab is well seasoned. Luckily there was no line for weekday afternoon, service was quick, however bare in mind sitting outdoor could be very chilly, and windy, there are not so many indoor seating available."
