"We stayed in Challans for a week in what turned out to be a disappointing hotel. Fortunately on our first evening we chose to eat at Le Louis XIII. The restaurant is an auberge which dates from 1580 and the atmosphere is very pleasant. The...staff were welcoming and helpful and the service was very good. The food was delicious with good portions, beautifully prepared and presented. Although we tried other places, this was our favourite and we returned twice more. The restaurant is also a crêperie so that adds to the choice of meals on offer. A three course meal for 2 with half a litre of the house wine came to about £46 excellent value for the quality. I would love to go back!"

"Just acceptable. Really if you have no other chioce. The place is ok and staff was nice but the food is bad quality. And even if they attract you with cheap prices on few dishes, extra drink, desserts, snacks are overpriced."
