"Sitting on the deck watching the sun set eating scrumptious, delectably battered coral trout, delicately and superbly cooked salt and pepper calamari and thin cut crisp chips, who could ask for more! Whilst waiting for our order, we heard customer after customer express gratitude and...compliments to the chef Geoff and the owner Matty who told us he’d only been open for weeks! The meal is collected from the counter wrapped in white butcher’s paper to be eaten either on-site at tables or take away. Glasses are provided for byo as is cutlery. If in Cooktown do yourself a favour and eat there! The kiosk is open for breakfast and lunch too."

"On a recent trip to Cooktown we were strongly advised to visit this Café by our hosts in Kuranda who had been fans when Luc and his wife had a café there. It is closed Tuesday and Wednesday but every other morning Luc starts preparing the whole range of absolutely delicious pastries, bread, pies etc from scratch, starting his day at 2:30am. It is therefore absolutely fresh and amazingly delicious. There are also great breakfast offerings, I had the French Omelette which was 'très magnifique'. This café is a level above anything else we had in Cooktown and it would be remiss of you to fail to find it. Look for the laundromat down at the Jetty area and it is right next door. Very highly recommended, a real slice of la belle France from a native of Bordeaux.Those of you who have been fortunate enough to spend time in France will feel a yearning to return."
