"Cody was our server there because they don't really have servers you order at the bar. He was great! Super friendly, made us feel that they really appreciate their customers. Recommended a delicious Strawberry Long Island. We ordered the $3 tacos for Taco Tues. They were surprisingly filled with meat! Beef was better than Chix. We also ordered some pizzas that were good. Unlimited chips and salsa came with the Mexican pizza, so it was a nice plus. The Queen was really good too!"

"I find Reed's to have a decently diverse selection, no doubt due on large part to the expectations of affluent summer vacationers. I have had no trouble finding acceptably fresh produce and meats, as well as the typical dairy, baked goods, and canned goods we all seem to need on occasion. I am especially enamored of their bakery's pumpernickel bread with whole rye grains in it. At 4 for a not terribly big loaf, it carries a bit of a premium price. But its rich sweet taste makes it the best pumpernickel I've yet found. I find their staff to be friendly helpful. Kudos to their checkouts. As others have noted, prices at Reed's run a bit high. My gut impression would put them in the range of 15-20% higher than Brainerd/Baxter chain stores. Likely a bit more for specialty items. But remember that Crosslake is a resort area with lots of summer vacation homes a ways out in the tulies with a 3 month rush season in the summer, which leaves the other 9 months looking rougher on the cashflow vs fixed overhead side of the books due to vastly reduced foot traffic. The slightly elevated prices help this local market stick around so locals can shop local through those leaner months. I consider the slight uptick as being cheaper than gas money to drive elsewhere for the occasional perishables stockup, especially given that the grocery in Pequot Lakes closest comparable, I think is priced in line with Reed's from what I've noted. That said, I don't find the price:quality value ratio at Reed's bad enough to justify the 40 minute drive to Baxter to shop at Cub/Costco/Aldi/Walmart/Super One/etc, save for the once or twice a month mondo stocking of the pantry. Reed's proximate convenience, plus their good enough selection, is worth their price to me for interim trips."
