"Service was good, the young woman was very helpful and friendly. Mac and cheese was untraditional, which didn't resemble Mac and cheese, as well as not tasting great. Other order was wrong and had to be changed so we were waiting for a while for that. Overall service was great and friendly, food was very poor/average at best."

"First class service, we were on the British Pullman and a visit to chatsworth house. We arrived on a wet and windy day, the house was ok but I was cold. Came into the restaurant and asked if I could simply have a bottle of wine. Kath was so amazing. So helpful and friendly. Even arranged for a birthday platter for the hubby! Thank you x x"

"Called in for pots of tea leg rest after a walk. Nicely served on a tray collected from the counter. Very clean tables throughout. Toilets sparkle. Staff friendly well presented. Food looked delicious. Our receipt entitled us to a £1.30 coffee at a later time in the day. Can recommend."

"Fantastic meal (again). Thanks to Alan. Shared Chateaubriand for two. Scallops starter. Beef cooked perfect, great quality meat. Amazing truffle mash and horseradish coleslaw. And perfect chips. Great selection of wines too. Craig’s first night behind the bar charming host."

"In a very packed Bakewell, in our staycation season, this place is a hidden oasis. Well worth booking the afternoon tea in advance. Absolutely fabulous and really lovely friendly service. There is also an excellent little quirky shop in the courtyard full of interesting souvenirs to take home"

"We were staying at the hotel and decided to eat there 2 of the nights and we certainly were not disappointed. The food was cooked to perfection. It is very rare that I get a steak just exactly the way I like it, but Chris...did just that. Breakfast was included in our stay and what a breakfast, all good quality produce and well presented. A breakfast that set you up for the day."

".....and that's just what we got. Excellent! Attached to a day care centre, The Country Kitchen had a homely feel, with comfortable seating, clean and offering a good range of food from light snacks to full meals at a fair price. Freshly prepared and tasty, this was just what we wanted. Would we go back? Yes if we're in the area."

"Now known as Habib's and under new management, Cromford's No. 2 chippy is working hard to win custom from the long setablished rival across the road. The offering has broadened to include kebabs and panini/pizzas though we've found that not everything on the menu is available all the time... Generous portions, well fried fish and chips, good standard of cleanliness, seating outside and inside. Slightly more expensive than the ultra competitive chippies along the road in Matlock Bath but a good local chippy."
