"All exquisite. But they took us to a second dining room, I had a headache, the diners at the other tables had a tremendous torrent of voices. I had to leave without finishing eating, they were talking loudly, nothing to do with the first dining room. "Nothing short of outstanding we could not have kicked off our holidays in a better way! Pulpo, tuna tartare and monkfish for two were excellent and the Patxaran on the house at the end of the meal sealed the deal. Loved it!"

"Yesterday I went to try the weekend menu of this coqueto restaurant located in the ancient and idyllic part of the source. from the door and the decorated window keeps the old structure) I loved. the restaurant is run by a couple of nekane and juanjo) who gave us a very good service and made us feel at home. they have a weekend menu and a daily menu that changes depending on their market visit with seasonal products. They also have a small menu of beaks to complete the menu, from which we chose the glass bread with tomato, which surprised us by its drop, and above all the bread, which was very, very crispy, warm and we did not leave a crispy. We chose a soft and delicious fish soup, a foie my delicious cuit, and seasonal artichokes with goat cheese and ham that were delicious. "What a find! We looked at eating here last year, but thought it a bit 'smart ' (wine coolers at each table, wine glasses out, table cloths, etc), preferring, instead, a more local seafood place round the corner, Arraun Etxea, where we had enjoyed a lovely whole cooked crab in 2013. That was a mistake went to try the local place again this year, but was closed for the week. Went back to Urdin, one other family there (although it wasn 't quite 2pm yet) and thought we would give it a go. Just wow! We opted for the frutti de mare and ordered an additional 2 small grilled lobsters, plus fries apparently this dish is just about enough for one don 't believe the always helpful and friendly waitress its more than enough for 2. Frutti de mare, I think, can show you what a seafood chef is capable of, presentation, various cooking abilities, etc. This came, unusually, as 2 courses the cold dishes first, followed by the hot food (I hadn 't come across this before). Cold dish first large basket of fresh warm bread, a large brilliantly dressed whole crab, 2 perfectly chilled oysters and a green salad we should have had winkles, but there weren 't any, so we got extra langoustines as part of the hot course. Crab was perfect, the soft meat spreading perfectly on the warm bread. The fries were sliced potatoes, lightly fried in olive oil and lightly seasoned fantastic. But the hot course surpassed any seafood meal I 've ever had. It comprised a decent sized half lobster, grilled, pan fried large prawns, huge pan fried gambas and 2 whole squid easily the sweetest seafood meat I 've ever tasted, just cooked to perfection, the flavour was just incredible! Then came the small lobsters (looked like v large langoustines, but they called it a small lobster the waitress even got a poster down off the wall to show us) as our final course didn 't need it of course, but in for a penny etc, Again, cooked to perfection, sweet meat, light garlic butter if we could have licked the plate, we would have! The total bill, including 2 glasses of excellent white wine and a bottle of mineral water 74.00 euros less than £60.00 at time of writing This. Is. A. Bargain. for the quality and generosity of the food presented. Why was the food so good? its fresh from the sea that day the place is run by 2 brothers one catches the fish, the other cooks it. The quality shows, these guys know how to fish and how to cook seafood. I 've been lucky to eat some quality seafood in Canada, USA, France, Singapore, Australia, etc this meal beats them all. Its located in a quite part of Hondarribia (search Urdin, Hondarribia, in Google) well away from the scrum of the fisherman 's quarter, hence the reason it was quiet although the outside terrace was full by the time we had finished. If you are there, just make the effort they do plenty of other dishes, meats, paella, etc but don 't waste your time, seafood all the way!"
