"We’ve been visiting this excellent restaurant for many years. It’s yards off the main track between the shops in Piazza G Mazzini and Piazza Sant Oronzo in the old centre. It’s just north of the Teatro Apollo. It spans between XXV Lugli 12, Lecce and the minor Piazzetta Brixio de Santis. It’s worth looking-out for as this is a quality location serving tasty food and it offers great great value. I write this because it doesn’t shout it’s presence and as such it might become lost. Use it!"

"We are here for the second time in three days, what a beautiful stylish place, anna and her man (the chef) have made a wonderful quiet restaurant in the last 12 years with il padrone, antonio. must try their calamaretti fritti, as starter and then the filet of bark with black truffle and fennil. as a light dolce, I guess to take a 'sorpetto al-Limone'! we will visit this place again...Jioa, lidia, liza e michael."

"This is a lovely little wine bar/restaurant in the heart of Lecce old town, very close to the famous Basilica di Santa Croce. My parents and I visited three or four times during our stay in Lecce and were always very happy with the experience. The food is delightfully fresh, relatively simple but very effective, and includes tasty salads, plus a variety of delicious homemade pasta dishes. Where La Barrique excels even more, however, is with its splendidly comprehensive wine list featuring some gorgeous (and very moreish! Puglian varieties and thoroughly charming staff. Alfredo, who served us every time we visited, is both a delightful host and an expert sommelier who can guide you to some local wines the likes of which you won't get a chance to savour outside the region. An unpretentious little gem of a place."
