"My boyfriend and I were looking for a nice cafe for lunch and found this gem. Instantly we were welcomed and made to feel at home by the lovely owners, Philip and Anke. A brilliant selection of drinks, lunch time treats and cakes their...smashed avocado on Rye bread was absolutely delicious! So happy we found this gorgeous cafe, would throughly recommend. Rare to feel so welcomed in a cafe, and we really appreciated it. We will definitely be coming back in the future"

"Since moving to Kent last year, we have been to this pub for food about a dozen times and I can honestly say, hand on heart that the food is alway fantastic. We have never had a mediocre or bad meal here at all. It...is always consistently great food at very reasonable prices. The staff are always very friendly and it’s a pleasure to visit when we can. Highly recommended for family or couples. Can’t wait to return!!"

"We booked here for a family meal of 16 on the 11 Dec after a fab morning at the pantomime. It was the first time we had been here and we loved it. It had a wonderful Christmas feeling that just helped to round off our day and the food was amazing! Every one of us all ages) enjoyed our dinner and we would go back again at a drop of a hat. It was very busy and the staff didn't seem to have time to breath but remained friendly and helpful. Thank you for a wonderful meal x"

"Not been here for a while as I don't get out much but always used to love coming to see local bands play. Just a nice little venue on the outskirts of town and easy to get to from either Chatham or (if you want to avoid getting mugged) Rochester station."

"Disappointing first visit for my wife's birthday meal. Spending a lot of time in Türkiye and North Cyprus, we specifically asked the waitress not to serve our starters and mains together, but to leave at least 15 minutes in between. No problem she said. My Calamari starter turned up with my wife's main meal Imam Biyaldi. The waitress said her Butterfly Prawn starter was just coming. I iterated that we wanted the starters and mains separate with at least 15 minutes in between, so she took my wife's main away. 10 minutes later the Butterfly Prawns turned up but only after I'd eaten my Calamari before it went cold. I didn't want to be unreasonable and send that back as well so we could eat together, though that was why we were there in the first place. When she took my wifes' starter plate away she returned straight away with the Imam Biyaldi along with my Helap Kebab. Needless to say my wife's meal was dry and crusty on top where it had been sitting under a heat lamp for about 20 minutes. To top the evening off we went to pay by debit card and was told it was cash only as their machine had broken. I said they could have told us when we arrived and they pointed to a sign on the wall which ordinarily you would only see on your way out. Apart from that the food portions were a good size. But that was the only good thing and sadly didn't warrant the price point. £22 for a bottle of wine you can buy in Türkiye and North Cyprus for £1.50 and £17 for an Adana Kabab of skewered minced lamb with excessive gristle on a bed of soggy bread, served with a basket full of......more bread??? The restaurant wasn't busy at all for a Saturday night either. Come on Taze pull your socks up. The hospitality industry is supposedly still on it's knees following Covid and our visit last Saturday may well explain why. Definitely not coming back here any time soon."
