"We called ahead due to the reviews and booked a table but, being a sunday, it was very quiet (this is not a sleight on the restaurant, just way of life in Portugal and probably because of stupidly hot weather). As soon as we walked in the staff/owners were very friendly, couldn't have helped more and we're good with the kids. Food was excellent and the setting was lovely - grapes growing in the background in a lovely old Portuguese building - when we first walked in it felt like someone's front room (albeit on the larger side). The bill was higher than other restaurants we had been to but given the standard of food, service and drinks consumed (soft and alcoholic) it was worth it.One thing that did make me smile and made this place stand out to others was that instead of putting bread on your table like other restaurants do without asking, which, with other bits and bobs, add to the bill; the owner asked first. Overall and excellent experience and well done to the owners - we even got to meet two one week old kittens born nearby (I say we - the kids went off and met them with the owners)."
