"This place has been taken over and it is fantastic! I went in to try out a fry up and I'm so pleased I did. The food was fab and the service was excellent. Staff so friendly and the place is really clean. Definitely give this place a go"

"The restaurant had no atmosphere plaster boards leaned on the wall interiors, very cold only a little blower heating. Service was good food was poor both my wife and I was looking forward to eating here after I looked at the reviews like...when we were. Bot ended with severe stomach cramps diarrhea and feeling very uncomfortable. Eating constantly in our stomach we left the theater early after we had the meal when we felt so bad. Not kind of food review 5 about me looking at the kitchen. Stay away."

"We didn't stay more than a few minutes as the waitress was beyond rude. Obviously I was very unwelcome with my son and my enquiry about a high chair was met with a blunt terse no. She demanded to know if we wanted food before we'd even opened the menu, and as we asked about afternoon tea meaning just a scone and some tea and we're told no you have to give 24 hours notice. We were obviously an inconvenience so moved on."

"On the whole the meal was delicious (other than one split dessert which was sent back) but front of house let the side down with a catalogue of errors. They were all very young and looked to be needing direction from someone with more experience...to point them in the right direction. Firstly, when you order champagne, you do not have it served in a red wine glass! Next came the waitress trying to remove dishes while we were still eating.We then had courses where they brought the next course before clearing the table and we were asked to clear the old dishes ourselves to enable the waitress to serve the new dishes. After the meal, coffee was served at the same time as the desserts, instead of after that course was finished and the dishes removed and then we were kept waiting minutes for the check after we asked for it despite there being only tables and staff to cover these. All minor points but when you are in a higher end restaurant you certainly do not expect this catalogue of errors"

"Beautiful food and cocktails had by my wife Victoria and myself on our one year anniversary weekend. Excellent service and communication, the proprietor actually took the time to come and have a conversation with us. After we left we were stood in a shop doorway out of the cold waiting for a taxi back to our hotel. As the proprietor came out he offered to give us a lift back there so we gladly accepted. That's what I call going above and beyond for your customers. Highly recommended"

"Great business, great service and great food. our group went for high tee in wedgewood room and we all really enjoyed our experience. my special favorite was the coffee and walnut cake. even when it was such a hot day, I swept ear-grey for and ice-cream, which was very refreshing and we are worth a try."

"We visited The Sloop on our way back to Chepstow from Monmouth. Great situation on the main road and good parking. Staff were friendly and welcoming even though we'd arrived around 5ish wanting hot food!! Food was excellent and plentiful but no local beer on offer"

"Fabulous food literally the most delicious! Can particularly recommend the scallop risotto and the beef fillet. As we are local I can’t wait to return with friends. The front of house were very friendly and welcoming. Thank you for a wonderful experience in celebrating...my birthday."
