"We came here for a breakfast on a Saturday morning before travelling home to Sydney. The place looked nice with helpful staff and around half of the tables were occupied when we arrived. It took a little while for our coffees to arrive, though they were good. We'd ordered our meals and had been waiting around 20 mins when a group of cyclists turned up - perhaps around 10 or so. They lined up and placed their orders before rearranging some tables outside. 20 mins turned into 30 and 40 and finally our meals arrived. Before I could grab the waitress she vanished in a flash - I wanted to get her attention as my big breakfast was missing its BACON!! I sent the meal back and when it returned (by which time my wife had finished hers) there was bacon, though it looked like it had been taken from a packet and quickly microwaved.In summary: The staff are pleasant but perhaps their scheduling and attention to detail could do with some work."

"We had a complete blast at Elton’s. The food was excellent and as the evening went on the music turned up and we had a party. The staff and other customers joined in as we got everybody dancing. I don’t imagine every evening here plays...out like this but credit to the staff for playing along."

"Palate has reopened and it’s amazing. We went to the restaurant because of the reviews and it didn’t disappoint. The chilli Crab was so yummy and it sure was chilli. Complements to the chef for committing to the chilli and living up to the name. We had the Lamb and Steak and it was cooked to perfection and the sides were just as good. The serves were so big we couldn’t fit dessert in. The restaurant was busy with all tables occupied. I’d suggest booking. Best dinner during our 3 night stay,"

"Each year when a group of us have visited Mudgee, I have arranged a dinner at the Wanderlight motel restaurant. This year, we had 26 people attending! The booking had been made a long time before but I was surprised that only 1 waitress was...on duty (someone else seemed to assist on occasions though). I understand new owners may have arrived since last year. The chef seemed to be dictating the terms of our visit and the previously agreed arrangement that separate dockets be done for couples and small groups to facilitate payment was dismissed when I arrived, despite it being suggested by the restaurant! I had even gone to the trouble of calling in the day before to confirm the arrangements! I was initially asked to collect the money myself for the entire group (which I refused to do as no-one would have the right money and some want to use a credit card). Somewhat reluctantly, they agreed to having a bill for each (large) table so people could identify there meals and pay at the end. However this was only done after I gave my personal guarantee to cover any leftover charges which I did. Having had large parties for 3 previous years, I was disappointed that it was suggested our group (mostly in their 60's) had little payment integrity. As expected, all charges were met. Because the chef demanded the orders be done as two large tables and not smaller orders, the food took an eternity to arrive (the strategy of individual dockets was to allow cooking to start rather than 2 huge dockets going into the kitchen). When the food arrived, it was not all that hot although still quite tasty. Sadly however, I got a lot of comments from the group afterwards saying they did not want to return next year as they felt the new owners had lowered standard of service and the enjoyment of the evening. What more can I say!"

"We had the fresh calamari and it was delicious for an entree with brushetta, the portions are huge and all is cooked freshly. We had pork balls and ribs that were so good they melted in your mouth once again huge portions and very fair...pricing. Highly recommend."

"Had an amazing lunch! Our waiter Nelson was a superstar! He catered towards our every need and looked after the kids by getting them some delicious ice cream! Food was fantastic and we loved the variety! All it was fresh and presented beautiful. The roast pork was next level tasty!"
