"I was invited to Old Chicago by a friend to enjoy some pizza and drinks with his buddies. This was my first time at Old Chicago, though I had heard good things about its pizza. My first impression is that the atmosphere is rather cozy. Our waitress was very efficient at her job and friendly to us. She checked on several occasions to see how we were enjoying the food and if we needed refills. One of the guys ordered an appetizer of garlic bread that he shared with everybody. It was rather basic garlic bread, and is about what you’d expect from garlic bread. I ordered an individual, hand-tossed-crust pepperoni pizza. From the first bite of the pizza, I was a little disappointed by the cheese. To put it simply: I did not enjoy the cheese they used. It reminded me of Tavern 41’s or Peoria Pizza Work’s cheese, both of which I am not a fan of. I am sure some people prefer that style of cheese, but it just isn’t my thing. The crust and sauce used on the pizza made up quite a bit for the cheese. The pepperoni was rather dry. On a scale of greasy to not-greasy pepperoni, I would say Brienzo’s pepperoni is on the far greasy side, while Old Chicago’s is on the opposite far not-greasy side of the spectrum. I think the individual size pizza was rather big for an individual, but a hungry or pizza-loving person can still eat it all. While I did not like the cheese, I still want to go back and try the pepperoni roll appetizer and a pizza with their OC Think crust. Maybe its cheese will be better."

"Really great. No perfect experience, but really, really great. We'd eat here again. My Chicago dog bunker was microwave and was pretty hard... that happens when you microwave a hot dog back. We weren't wild about the fries, but we're not in Fritten. Once again, overall, a really great experience. Would come back!"

"I am sad to say that everything we got was either sickly sweet or just bland. -apple cider vinegarette was like drinking sugar -apple cider bbq was gritty -ceasar was odd and tasted sour but super garlicky -tuna sandwich was super fishy -bread was dry -french onion was far too sweet -snickerdoodle was dry, gritty, and super sweet. -turkey BLT was Meh -chx noodle was bland Super sad. Will drive farther to Wildflower or zupas next time."
