"The restaurant is good. the owners are nice and friendly. but when it comes to eating, it just doesn't taste as authentic Indian food. I had a lot of great Indian vegan food in Indian restaurants operated by Indian people. Maybe it's because the owners of this place are not Indian (I don't want to keep anything against them) we tried all vegan dishes here and all of them lacked taste. Not that they tasted bad, but it was just ok."

"This restaurant is highly appreciated by the locals but the tourists haven't found it yet. On a corner across from the town square and Municipal Building, the doors must be 10 feet tall on two sides, the ceiling is about 15 ft. high, giving the restaurant a feel of an old hacienda. I asked the waiter in my broken spanish what was the most popular breakfast and he recommended the "motuleños huevos". This was a delicious stack of refried beans, tostado, fried eggs, topped with a tostado, covered with green peas, ham and tomato salsa with a side of fried plantain and shredded lettuce and sliced tomato and crispy bread for 60 pesos. Coffee was extra. The house salsa on the table warrants respect as it can be a wee bit PIQUANTE.!The walls are covered with old photos of Progreso. The wait staff was typical, you have to catch their eye if you want attention or your bill, "la Cuenta"."
