"Staying at the Homestead is a great way to visit the Sanctuary, and a pleasure in its own right. We had the private suite, which includes a kitchen and private bath. I could have stayed forever! It was lovely to meet other guests over home made vegan breakfast. We paid extra to join a tour of the sanctuary on our first day, and went down again to watch the animals get their breakfast on day 2. All the staff and volunteers made us feel very welcome and were open to any and all questions about the animals and their philosophy (including veganism). I think they are doing excellent work. On their recommendation we went to the Garden cafe in Woodstock for a late lunch, which was perfect. Can't recommend this place enough! The only qualm we had was that only the suite has a private bathroom. If that matters to you, you'll have to pay a bit more. Otherwise it's shared between the other 3 or 4 rooms."

"A great place to try some good Jamaican food and drinks. The chicken was incredible and so was the watermelon juice. The staff was very friendly and attentive and the ambience is very bohemian and filled with music and good noise. There were groups of friends and families also. Meal type: Dinner Price per person: $20–30"

"This is a much better bar than it is a restaurant. A lot of specialty beers. The food is decent, not exceptional. We sat down at 7:30, we'd ordered by 7: 45. We received our main course around 8:45. The wait staff is friendly, I have a feeling it wasn't their fault. Kitchen just got slammed but still, we didn't even get an apology. Food: 3 Service: 2 Atmosphere: 4"

"Delicious fresh American international lunch menu, prepared with love by a lovely Indian family. Super green salads, sandwiches, gyro, chicken sandwiches, etc. And then after 5 pm, the cafe turns into an Indian dinner cafe. This is a new place in Saugerties catch it before it?s discovered!"

"I visited the area of Saugerties and my daughter wanted to check the clothing stores, but I wanted to go to a bakery so I chose the Hudson Valley Dessert Company. And it was fantastic! I only bought four cookies and even with this small order the young lady who took care of me was very nice. I chose a raspberry thumbprint, a chocolate-coated raspberry short rice, a semi-coated chocolate short bread heart and a biscotti like cookies that I believe almond bread (my first time). These cookies were all the same fresh with great taste! I live in the downstate area and work part-time in NYC, where I went to countless bakeries (my weakness obvious) and these cookies fit to any cookie I had in the city, and even surpass my experience with some of the well-known ones."

"We picked up our order of over 50.00. When we got home upset to find out our double order of wings was not there. The container we assumed had the wings instead chicken fingers/fries. : called she told us bring back the fingers meal and exchange for ours. 10mile drive no apology no other attempt to make up for long return trip. Nothing. Pizza good not 55.00 good with poor service."
