"We have just spent 3 days at the Parador de Tortosa. It is an old hotel full of character with lovely grounds and views of Tortosa, surrounding mountains and the river Ebro. We were glad of Google maps because it isn’t particularly easy to find through back streets winding up to the top where the castle and hotel are. The staff are very friendly and spoke English. Our room was quite a hike from the main area but it was quiet, very clean and we had a balcony with lovely views. The twin beds were comfortable, bathroom very spacious, nice big bath and usual bathroom accessories. Mini bar but no tea/coffee making facilities. No English speaking channels on the TV except Bloomberg normally you would find BBC World or CNN but it wasn’t a problem. The food in the restaurant was delicious with a varied menu. Not a lot of choice if you are vegetarian! The breakfast room is on the 2nd floor. There was a good selection of cold meats, cheese, fruit, yoghurt etc. Loads of different breads and pastries and some hot food. Tortosa is a good base to explore the nearby river and mountains. Highly recommend the Parador."

"The 4 of us had set out in search of a particular restaurant (Botanic) which, when we finally found it, was closed, even though it;s website said it was open. After stumbling around unsuccessfully for 30 minutes in search of another restaurant that offered more than just beer and snacks, we came upon los Banys . The food certainly exceeded our expectations, but that 's not why this review is entitled Honest . No, that would be because I carelessly and stupidly left my wallet with all my credit cards and driver 's licence on the restaurant table when we left by taxi for our hotel. The manager waiter called our taxi to let us know this and we quickly returned to the restaurant to retrieve my wallet. Many thanks seignor! Your honesty is much appreciated by this (sometimes) careless traveller."
