"After some months away, we revisited Askua for a quick Saturday lunch. They have new seasonal starters including marinated wild mushrooms which were very good, followed by a magnificent chuleton (sliced steak for 2. As usual, the meat was of truly excellent quality. The wine list had the rare Macan Clasico (the Riojan joint venture between Benjamin de Rothschild and Vega Sicilia for € 37: an excellent wine at competitive pricing, but stocks are limited . Truffles in olive oil and salt finished the session in good style. Overall, a first rate meal for little over Euros 120 including wine and service. While it helps to like top class steaks, Askua also has other options for non-carnivores, and remains a consistently high quality option in Valencia. For a special event, they have some exceptional rare French wines...and some of Spain's top growths at lower pricing. Ample parking nearby (street and car park options : convenient for Mestalla football stadium and Valencia's main concert hall (the opera house is a 10-15 minute walk away . The main Gran Via/Colon shopping area is 7-10 minutes walk away across the bridge over the old river course (now a park/jogging track where one can walk off the steaks and wine... . One of Valencia's best restaurants, with remarkable consistency. Good both for business or social dining."

"We have visited twice recently, and had the daily lunch menu. The food was very good, and generous portions. However the service is erratic. You would expect the 3 courses to be served in order and that you would be given a chance to finish one course before the next is served. Not so. I was served the third course first, which I sent back. My wife was served soup as her first course, then while still eating it, her third course arrived. As someone else said Fawlty Towers. On the plus side apart from the good food and wide choice on the daily menu, the restaurant is very clean, high standard of decor, quality crockery, cloth tablecloths and napkins, and reasonable prices. Currently 11€ for the daily menu, 3 courses and a drink included ."
