"The journey home from a weekend trip to the Baltic Sea ended as feared in traffic. In the evening it should be at least a small reward in the form of a beautiful meal. After a long discussion (We had time in the car and extensive balancing of the advantages and disadvantages of carving, pizza or wok dishes, we could agree more or less democratically to the old Germans in Verl. After entering the guest room we were greeted by the service and were allowed to choose from the free tables. From past visits I know others, in my eyes more beautiful rooms, whether they were hosted today I can't say there was only one place in the front guest room. Here's something too cuddly. A little more airy or if it's classic, then more authentic space would be better for me. The service, a young lady who is friendly, but somehow lustless, brings us the menus very fast and also asks for drinks. From the long car ride my wife and the children ordered 2 sprites and a special (0.2l per 2.20 €). I wanted something more patient and maybe a glass of wine. The service then brought me the wine card, which, although it contains a quite extensive selection, which is so often very reduced in open wines. The first beverage bottle was then served very quickly and well cooled. The menu consists mainly of classics of the German guest kitchen. Here you will find a Wiener Schnitzel as well as the fillet pan (which is of course old German) or the Zander. In addition, there is a map with current seasonal recommendations that currently includes a page with summer dishes and a page to me Pfifferlingsgerichten. It is also available on a special allergy card, but we have not looked at. We finally decided: 1x children's carving "Bäuerchen" with pommes (7.50 € 1x turkey steak 200g (10.50 € with roast potatoes (3.50 € 1x) Pannized pork carving with cream spit (16.80 € 1x beef fillet tips Tuscany (17.80 € for drinking were another 2 sprites and a small Rhabarb cook The bread (3 slices bright and 3 slices of dark baguette was unfortunately only simple industrial bread, but at least very fresh. There is also not much to say about the 3 paintings, but it was simply enough to ease the first hunger for our hell trip on the highway. The actual food was then brought to the table a little later by a young gentleman. He made his thing really very good, was very friendly, joked with the children and radiated an almost all-encompassing service. He obviously made his job really happy. Nice to see something like that. turkey steak with roast potatoes The Turkish steak, ordered the smallest variant with 200g, looked very good from the first impression. A beautiful, evenly thick piece and without the often running tendon. My great, who had already glowing eyes when the flesh was placed before him, broke well when he had the first piece in his mouth. The meat was really good. roasted to the point, and still nicely juicy, outside a light, non-dry crust and taste clearly above the tasteless cleansing standard of so often expected. The roast potatoes were also excellent. Also thin, well fried and not too fat. A small bacon and glazed onions rounded off the whole. After the map, the cut beef fillet tips of Tuscany are served on the edge of the rice and are characterized by rag onions, paprika, zucchini strips cherry tomatoes and sour cream. So it also came to the look that offered me to the plate, but was more necessary to be used. It looked like a little parsley. The meat was unfortunately somewhat too much through (rosa was nowhere to recognize, but happy way was not yet dry. The vegetables were still slightly crispy, that was OK, but tastefully the whole thing was quite inconspicuous. I would have liked a little more “Toskana”. With some herbs, a garlic and a somewhat hearty handle in the salt barrel (this is especially true for the more watery and taste-neutral long grain rice, you would have brought out much more. All in all, I would probably not order this court anymore. Panned pork carving with cream flakes “The Pifferlingsschnitzel”, after the announcement on serving, came to the table with 2 semmelknödeln and a preserved side salad. Here too, “housewives” are more optimistic. The carving itself was nicely stuffed, but rather thick (either beaten nor plated. Overall, it made an optically good impression with the slightly wavy, golden-yellow tanned breakthrough. But tastefully it has clearly disappointed. It was not very dry or hard, but exceptionally strong. Above all, it had a slight wrong aroma. The dumplings were very good. Nicely fluffy and well lubricated. A very good combination, together with the Rahmpfifferlingen, who might have been a bit too heavy. I can only say something about the side salad. Optic OK, my wife also found that he tastes so. “Bäuerchen” (Panierte Schnitzel with Pommes The Schnitzel) was similar to that of the Pfifferlingen and had the same good and bad qualities. The pommes served (dual cuts were well fried and like to be eaten. The question was dessert or not. No one could really come through a dessert, the only one who definitely wanted nothing was me. Finally, my wife and children decided to order some vanilla ice cream with hot cherries (7, €). It tasted good for the three dessert eaters, as I don't like cherries, I'll make a verdict here. Until we were able to pay at the end, it took a while since the service was lost. However, the payment process itself with proper proof was an uncomplicated assessment: Ambience: As described more rustic and taste a little for my taste. 3 star service: Here must clearly distinguish between the young lady who did her work well, but somehow without heart and the young gentleman who really did his job all honor. Overall, I therefore spend mixed 3.5 stars. Food: In principle, you do not eat badly here, but it is lacking the last touch that makes a “OK” a real “good”. A little more courage to season and above all a little more sense for “the eye eats with it!” then the evaluation would quickly rise. These are only 3 stars. Cleanliness: There is nothing to complain about here. Table, guest rooms and toilets were really good in shot. 4 star price ratio: Here comes the claim that the old Germans have become evident in Verl. For what is ultimately delivered, however, the price claim is somewhat too high. 3.5 star conclusion: Not bad, but the last peep is missing. I don't think a revisit will last another 4 years, but next week I don't have to go again, so there are too many good competitors in Verl."

"Recommendation! Eat top: we had the shrimp chocolate soup as an appetizer and the fried wildgarnels. The main food was once the beef fillet and the cod-jau-filet. Everything was perfect!! Even with the finest palate you can only say Bravo. Service super friendly and warm. The wine card is small but fine!! How to get out of here happy price performance more than okay!! In Munich we pay at least 10€ more per dish"

"General After my dear wife stayed at her table in the pension Fordkort and was very positive, we ended last Saturday for a visit to two. The guest house Fordkort „bei Egon“ is located in Verl-Kaunitz on the road to Schloss-Holte Stukenbrock. If you don't know the place, you have to make sure that you don't drive right past because it's a little backward, unlike the other houses. Parking is enough on the street. When entering the slim space, the large counter dominates. Several tables are arranged around them, partly in a kind of niches. Go around the counter you come to another room that also houses a beautiful fireplace. The whole thing has more pubs than restaurant signs. There are many ceremonies, in one place or another, the plaster breaks out of the corner. Some fresh color here and it would certainly not be wrong. But it's not unpleasant. For the ambience 3 stars. Since it is Saturday night and people like to go out with us in the country, we call in advance to book a table. Actually, everything is full, so the host on the phone, but if we want, we should like to come. Then he'd have to park us at the counter until a table is free. We take the risk and enter the well sorted place at 19:30. Most places are occupied, at two larger tables are reserved -signs, at the counter only 2 places are free. We are greeted by the host and by a passing service, and to the question whether there is already a place we would have called before, we are guided by the places that have just become free at the bar. We hardly sit, a small table in the side room is free with the fireplace and an operation accompanies us to the place. We get the menu and are asked directly for our drinks. My wife ordered a certain €0.40. I want to see the map first. Unfortunately, the card is a pure menu so I order as the service comes back to us after a while to get the order a common wheat beer 0.5l 3.30 €. For food, my wife ordered pork fillet in a bacon coat with fried cabbage, figs and potato gratin €14,80 . For me, Mr Rumpsteak should be €21.80. The drinks came to the table quite tight and well cooled. We also had a bread basket and spread out. The food itself took a while, which was obviously due to the high amount. We wanted another wine for dinner. The service then brought us the local wine map that consisted of a DinA4 sheet with some open and a few bottle wines. The selection was not huge, but quite right for such a place. We ordered the open Barbera €0.2l 4.60 with 2 glasses. The wine was then served in a small carafe shortly after dinner and the service also gave us a drink. All in all, all the service workers who served us very accommodating tonight always had a smile on their lips and did their thing well. Of course there is something more rustic here, but it is all authentic, the guests are in sight and the reorders of the drinks come quickly to the guest. I especially liked how the service treated our complaints. The wine see below was not calculated, the note on the cooking grade of the steak was communicated to the kitchen and there was a dessert on the house. I like to give good 4 stars for the service. Food: Bread with herbal cucumber: There was a basket with rye mixed bread and a small one-piece glass with herbal cucumber. The rye bread of all likelihood was not itself made easily roasted or the slices were baked in the oven. A decent bread, but no revelation. The herbal cucumber, obviously made itself, was beautifully creamy and mainly with chives and spring onions. He tasted wonderfully mixed bread and even after the end pure with the spoon. pork fillet with bacon coat, Nick-Cauli, fig-Jus and potato gratin: The pork fillet was cooked until the point juicy and tenderly. The enveloping bacon has given the meat a strong wort, which is supplemented with the accompanying nickel. The cabbage was well prepared with some cream. He had a “small” consistency, with the individual pieces of cabbage still bite easily. The fig jus also has amazingly good fit thanks to its light sweetness and the whole has been tastefully rounded. The potato gratin came in a separate small bowl, was tastefully very good and especially not too dry. Mister Rumpsteak: After the map, the “Mister Rumpsteak” is a 300g rag steak from the New Zealand pasture bark with fried mushrooms and tomatoes. Instead of the oven potato with Sourcream, I ordered Pommes Frites. I ordered the steak medium wheel. The steak was, as ordered, quite large. Unfortunately it came to a bit too long fried and thus "just" perfect medium to the table. The steak was accompanied on the elongated plate by some cut and fried champignons and 3 roasted cherry tomatoes. Pommes frites were served in a separate bowl. The meat, apart from the too long pan retention period, was very delicate and tastefully wonderfully aromatic. The meat selection of the cook seems to work well. The mushrooms were only slightly fried, because they could have a little more warmth from me, the tomatoes were still recognizable as such and were well suited for mushrooms and meat. The Pommes Frites, a very large part from which much was left, were nicely crispy and hot. Shortly after dinner on the table, Barbera was brought to us. Unfortunately this was tipped, slightly moussed and had a penetrant snack. The wine was of course not calculated to us, but we had no desire for another wine and ordered us another location of the previous drinks. As compensation for the wine and the unroasted steak we were then brought to each one a caramel ice cream with a small fresh croque as dessert. For dinner, there are still 4 stars, despite the slightly too long roasted steak. Cleanliness: Everything is in a clean state. We haven't visited the toilets, so we have 4 stars. Price/Performance ratio: We have eaten well and abundant, at a very decent price. The beverage prices are not as good as I know them from critics in southern Germany, but are still comparatively low regionally. So I want to forgive 5 stars here"
