"Great breakfast away from the crowds of downtown Palo Alto. Very family friendly. Excellent omelets and (my favorite) breakfast sandwich. Our kids love the smiley face pancakes."

"Since the Foster city location was closed, this part here is a little out of the way but it’s always good when it comes to food choices compared to Panera which is also our go-to. We had brunch at their patio and it was nice because there’s nobody else was there. We get to use the restroom even though there was a sign “for staff only”. They have us the code to enter. Just steer clear from the pancakes, better make one home."

"Thought it 'd be nice to show some homemade recipes instead of the typical here 's what the inside of a grocery store looks like just to give you a sense of the breadth a place like this can give you! Made kimchi fried rice and a coconut chiffon cake entirely with ingredients bought at this whole foods! Very easy to find all the ingredients I needed, even though the best option would have honestly been a 99 ranch to get the ingredients for much much cheaper (hence the 4 of 5 stars rating, not for this whole foods in particular but in general for the whole foods chain . In any case, here are the recipes for the pictured items again, all the ingredients are available at this whole foods the items that justify the cost are specifically the eggs (for which you really can taste the quality of the egg compared to average eggs you 'd buy at costco . If you can, try to get kimchi at a korean supermarket, so it can be the large jar that is the best deal around. The best option for the large jar of kimchi is to (pro tip alert! get a bunch of smaller mason jars and split up the kimchi so it doesn 't rot. It 's also important you never double dip the kimchi jar ie make sure you take out as much kimchi as you need per sitting into a clean separate bowl, as opposed to sticking chopsticks in your mouth each time you eat a bite, then going back into the jar gross! You 'll only infect the jar with the teeming bacteria in your mouth! Finally, a note on the chiffon cake make sure you whip the meringue well, preferably with an electronic mixer if you have access to one. That or incredibly strong forearms. Kimchi fried rice (recipe is from NYTimes INGREDIENTS 3 tablespoons unsalted butter 1/2 small onion, medium dice 1 cup roughly chopped kimchi (6 ounces 2 tablespoons kimchi juice, or to taste 1/2 cup small dice Spam, ham or leftover cooked meat 2 cups cooked, cooled rice (preferably short grain 2 teaspoons soy sauce, or to taste 1 teaspoon sesame oil, or to taste 2 teaspoons vegetable oil 4 eggs Salt to taste Green onion for garnish PREPARATION In a nonstick sauté pan or well seasoned cast iron skillet, melt butter over medium low heat, and add onions. Cook, stirring, until the onions start to sizzle, about 2 minutes. Add kimchi and kimchi juice, and stir until it comes to a boil, about 3 minutes. Add Spam, and cook until sauce is nearly dried out, about 5 minutes. Break up the rice in the pan with a spatula, and stir it to incorporate. Turn heat to medium. Cook, stirring, until the rice has absorbed the sauce and is very hot, about 5 minutes. Stir in soy sauce and sesame oil. Taste, and adjust with more soy sauce, sesame oil or kimchi juice. Turn heat down slightly, but let the rice continue to cook, untouched, to lightly brown while you cook the eggs. Place a small nonstick sauté pan over medium heat, and add the vegetable oil. When it is hot, add eggs, season with salt and fry to your desired doneness. Serve rice topped with fried eggs, nori and a sprinkle of sesame seeds. "For the first time I tried the Deli in Safeway, which was on Middlefield in Palo Alto. I ordered and ate a hot ham and cheese sandwich on sliced sourded bread with mayonnaise. It was fantastic. The best sandwich I've eaten at the age. Wow. What a pleasant surprise. I also ordered a small bag of chips and a bottle of water. The overall price was modest to say the least. I sat outside on the bank. I wish they had some tables and chairs for dinner inside and maybe one or two outside."

"I was avoiding it because of the queues, I tend to be in a rush every morning and go for quick take away coffees. Until one day I arrived earlier and decided to stop by since there was no queuing. I now understand why the crowd, the coffee is just one of the best I’ve ever tried. I go for simple black americano. You will struggle to find a better coffee in town. It is now my fav coffee shop in Palo Alto. Also incredible pastries and a must: their breakfast sandwich."
