"We decided to eat here as we had time to kill while in the international terminal. We were seated at the end of the bar(where there is a pillar blocking the view of the rest of the bar). Therefore, we were kind of sitting out...of sight of the bartenders and it felt like we were forgotten about as we probably sat for 15 minutes before being acknowledged of any kind. I saw many employees pass by us, including the bartender, without making eye contact. I even saw employees on their phones in the front of house. Finally the bartender acknowledged us but said he would be back by in a minute. A few minutes later he greeted us. We asked to change the channel to hockey and he wasn’t sure he could change the tv’s in front of us, so he offered to move us down the bar to see the tv’s that were already playing the game. This was better because we were in eyesight of the bartenders. He apologized to us about the wait for him to come over, and we were ready to order. They had a few local beers which were great. They also had a few local wines which were also great. We had the cobb salad (large and delicious) and the poutine (smaller but delicious). We did have to ask the bartender for silverware and napkins as our food came and we had none. He was able to joke about how he was dropping the ball on us and the service. But after that we has attentive, friendly, and tried to make up for it. We felt like our experience improved by the end of the meal. Our flight ended up getting delayed by many hours so we ended up coming back for dinner as well. We sat in the same place and had the same bartender. This time the service was better and he was still friendly. We ordered the roast beef sandwich (perfect size and delicious) and the burger (large and good). We also tried a different local beer and wine (also great again). It was airport prices but it was good food. We did go right before closing time and it felt as though the manager was trying to rush everyone out. Overall we enjoyed our meals here and it was a great way to kill some time before flights while watching some sports."

"Somewhat out of the way if your flight is not departing from this particular wing of YVR, this was our second visit to this hole in the wall (which no longer operates under the name Java U Cafe). We enjoyed our vegan wraps and cappuccinos. I also purchased an almond croissant but it must have been at least a day old and it was rather stale.The service was good and the prices comparatively reasonable."

"The service was very good and friendly, the room is always enjoyable, but the food was quite average and seems to have slipped recently. The beet salad was adequate but very small. Two of us had the chicken and both were quite dry."

"Food came out quick and was delicious. Presentation was beautiful. Ambience was great. Our waitress could use some etiquette training. She talked a mile a minute and was waving her hands at us, indicating hurry up and order. We had literally sat down and ordered within 5 minutes of seating. She was bouncing around our table pressuring us to hurry up."

"Fried chicken and wad fantastic. mac and cheese with bbq dick not so big or maybe man was not very hungry. chicken moist coating very delicious. coleslaw very well with a beautiful kick on it. very good, moist and icy and very light. I was obviously very full when we were gone. churros for desserts well. good that I didn't count any calorie!"

"This place is great, seems to be family run. They have a good variety of food, Chinese food, sandwiches, burgers etc. they also do breakfast. Everything is made fresh to order. Will be coming back for more. Keep up the good work guys."
