"Today there were 7 people working in the cafe today (I counted each and every one), but a simple coffee order took over 25 minutes and the coffee tasted like dishwater. None of the employees looked happy to be there and most of the staff were just standing around, while a large queue of people waited to have their order taken or made. When we arrived there was a large group of customers, standing around and glaring at the staff while they were waiting on their coffee orders that should have been my first clue. They have two registers for taking orders, but only one person taking orders. The man that took our order didn't greet us, acknowledge that we were there and spent most of the time talking to the chef (who wandered out of the kitchen) or the baristas. As a result, he didn't get the order right and didn't seem interested in even taking the order. And I would like to say this was a one off experience, but I have been coming to this cafe over the past year and the customer service is always poor. The coffee has been passable before, just not today. The cafe is the only place to get food or a coffee in a large sporting complex, so they have a captive audience. The service has never been great, whether there has been a major event on or even when it was quiet. So my challenge is to the owners is if you are not happy running a cafe, sell it. If you have staff who are not happy working at the cafe, encourage them to find a new job that better suits them. Hire a great barista and get the basics of customer service right."
