"Food is quite good and the location near the Theater District is convenient. I was quite annoyed with the (surprise Memorial Day weekend upcharge; we were charged $72/person for the prix-fixe menu instead of $49/person published on their website. We were not told about the pricing change until the bill came, of course. Also annoyed that $72/person did not include dessert, which does not seem like too much to ask. I would have chosen a different restaurant had I known the actual pricing ahead of time because I think there are better meals to be had in NYC for that rate. But on a normal day, this would have been a nice choice."

"Authentic Brazilian staff was very pleasant and prices were reasonable. Did not have a clue this place was in my neighborhood. I'm so glad I went. I happen to speak Portuguese and have visited Brasil in the past. I enjoyed a dish that I hadn't had in a bit. The feijoada dish was spectacular and elegant. I'm glad they chose Hialeah to open their buisness. Will start visiting regularly from now on as long as they remain authentic with Brazilian staff. I like the staff to match the culture of the food I'm planning to eat. The climate with Brazilian music in the background was a plus. Would highly recommend. Update on review.. I returned to location with additional family members. The food was was great but during check out someone in my family was covering the bill and we both noticed during checkout that there was an added service fee. We thought it was an imposed tip for the waiter but I guess that wasn't the case because the machine later asked how much of a tip we were electing to give. We did leave additional for tip but my family does not want to return because they felt that it was a scheme to charge more for the service. It was disappointing to see this happen. So the final outcome, the food is great but Beware of additional charges added to your bill !!!"

"Georgina (sp? was a wonderful hospitable host. We celebrated 2 birthdays and had a great time. It was so nice to go into a home for a traditional Brazilian meal no family drama. The eclectic decor and ambiance added to the whole experience. The outdoor area is cozy. The city view from the porch was beautiful. I saved this dinner for a special occasion and super happy with the experience. Obrigada!"

"We went to Carvalho's for Restaurant Week and were delighted by this find! Everything we tried was delicious, especially the acorn squash filled with shrimp in a cream and cheese sauce and the chocolate cake with coconut ganache filling. Our waiter Marlon was terrific, and I recommend asking for his section when you go. Also, be sure to try a Brazilian beer or caipirinha, you won't be disappointed!"
