"We were in Surfers Paradise for a week with friends, who introduced us to this restaurant. Once we got through the language barrier with the lady who served us, (I don't eat meat so was wanting to add to my vegetarian order) we all very much enjoyed our meals, and returned on the last evening of our stay as well."

"This Bar and restaurant has a great vibe, with it's rustic décor combined with a laid back southern US feel about it. Our family had dinner here last night and it was a great experience. They do BBQ and slow cooked meats really well. I had the Brisket with salads and sides. The brisket was melt in your mouth, cooked to perfection. My other family members had ribs and sharing platters everyone really enjoyed their meals. Whilst this restaurant may be old world in its vibe and décor, ordering your meals here is very modern. You each get a tablet to select your dishes and send your own order through to the kitchen. You can also order drinks this way and ask for a waiter to come to the table if you need service. It works well, especially if you want to split the bill as you can order as a group or just under your own individual name. The menu is mostly meat dishes, no salmon or BBQ prawns which would be nice to see. Most items on the menu are quite heavy, no light healthier kind of meals. They do have lots of different Burgers, which look good. You need to come here with a big appetite. The bar had lots of different kinds of beer and a decent wine list. Worth a looksee."

"Starter; was deep fried quail which consisted of one bird which had definitely not been deep fried that day as it was dry and tough, not fresh. Piping hot, possibly microwaved? Main dish; Sechuan beef and fried rice in a Chinese restaurant. How difficult can...that be? The rice wasn't too bad. Though oily it was acceptable with prawn, pork and veg. It was okay with me but probably not to everyones taste. But the Sechuan Beef? Disgusting thick gravy-like sauce that was sweet and could well have come out of a supermarket jar! Definitely no Sechuan pepper or chilli in that dish! I complained to the manager who then began to try to tell ME that it wasn't sweet! Sent it back, paid for our drinks and starter and left.This place probably does survive on the tourist trade as a party of obvious tourists from asia and their guide arrived while we we seated.There are far better and cheaper Gold Coast Asian restaurants/ cafes who will willingly showcase their food and service in a better light than Ocean Seafood. The guides should consider taking tourists there, might even get a better deal. I won't be back......"

"We had small dog with us and staff had no problem with that. They more then happy and welcoming us with him. Young girl who was serving us was nice and very friendly. Waiting time for drinks and food was short. We wanted order normal...chips and sweet potatoes, lady who took order said it might be too much chips for us. It’s better to add to order when we receive food. She was SO right. It was nice of her to save and not waste food. Food was really tasty, nuggets were more like homemade. Love it."
