"We came here as our student daughter has just moved into the area and we wanted refreshment of the liquid kind. Good local brews available as well as a good choice of gins (Saffon infused gin anyone? Definitely worth a return visit!"

"I and my wife had a fantastic meal to celebrate our wedding celebration. the food and service was excellent. when we just paid, the lady asked how many years we were married. we told her it was 35 years today. the dame answered “shoes” and then said “the meal is upon us”. that has never happened to us and we were overwhelmed with the kind and generous gestures. thanks for making our day very special. kay and keith"

"Been here a few times and the service has not changed. Food is good however the hot and sour soup is a hit and miss too sweet and the salt and pepper wings too salty but was perfect the next time. The older waitress who served us was very rude the first time we were to order from the table then the next time order at the front desk when I asked why she just said pay here with no explanation. Asked for cumin beef and she didn't know what it was and they don't have it eventhough being on the menu. Service is definitely not with a smile. Better grabbing a takeout than sit in."

"Have wanted to visit for some time and was not disappointed at all. Afternoon Tea was fantastic. Fresh sandwiches with four different fillings. Pork pie, sausage roll and a gorgeous caramelised onion quiche. Delicious scones, and a selection of sweet tasty cake treats. Pictures show how incredibly presented it was but doesn’t do justice to how delicious each was. Staff were great and working hard, it was very busy but we didn’t feel cramped or rushed away after we’d finished. Although we were nicely full after our afternoon tea we appreciated how delicious food from their menu looked as it came out to other diners. We will definitely be back to try out the menu."

"The staff are lovely and the food came quickly but I think it’s expensive for what it is. I would go again though as it was very tasty. Risotto is gorgeous but garlic bread disappointing. It was £54 fir 2 just main course and a very small piece of garlic bread."

"Glad we booked in advance, arrived and it it was packed. Friendly greeting, totally unrushed service, which I loved as gave us time to catch up with our son. Food was off the scale, both my wife and youngest son had the pulled pork which they both loved, my other son and myself had the share with extra sides, loads of beer, great food and very very friendly staff can't wait to visit again"

"I was visiting Sheffield and there on Sunday just gone, with friends. Probably the best roast I've had in my life! I went for the three meat roast and everything was cooked really well. the highlight for me however, was the red cabbage on the dish so flavourful! On top of this, the staff were lovely and attentive. Very good value for money. If I'm ever in the area again I'll be sure to stop by for another roast!"
