"My wife and myself are holidaying in the Lake staying at the Crown Hotel in Wetheral and shortly after our arrival we were given a lunch recommendation at the nearby Posting Pot which is half cafe/restaurant and general store/Post Office. We were warmly welcomed by a very nice lady (Elaine or Liz? who also gave us some directions for a walk along the River Eden and we were soon enjoying the Soup of the Day (Broccoli which was served with crutons and some lovely granary bread. It was so delicious that we returned to the Posting Pot after our walk for Tea for Two accompanied by a generous slice of home made local fruit cake. I suspect these won’t be our only visits to the Posting Pot!!"

"Came across Pippas by chance on a day visit to Brampton. What a find. The lady who served us was very friendly efficient. The food drinks were served quickly after ordering. I ordered the homemade quiche which was delicious, served with crisps salad coleslaw. My Mum had a toasted sandwich, again served with crisps, salad coleslaw, all very nice. Individual pots of tea served with a biscuit. Prices were very good. Definitely a place we would return to. Thank you Pippas it was all lovely."

"Absolutely worth stars, renters very friendly and very helpful, like all staff. the breakfast was very good and saw us the day, liz that cook the breakfast, was incredibly helpful with their local knowing and ide to visit for place. the room was very clean with a comfortable bed and beautiful view from all windows. dinner in the evening was from this world, good menu with a good selection of meat, fish and vegetarian dishes. very, outside in the sticks, beautiful landscape, brilliant walks and coater near. beautiful log fire in the bar and large beer to relax. worth a visit."

"Terrible!!! Family shopping trip to Carlisle and went for lunch....very disappointed! Food was not cooked properly roast potatoes were so hard they couldn’t be cut with a knife, Roast Turkey was dry, cutlery dirty! Won’t be going back!"
