"For a supposedly high-end eating establishment with wine prices starting at nearly £60 per bottle you expect tables to be made up before being seated however we were led to a table with a chair missing and no glasses/ napkin for one of our party....A trolley was wheeled up with the presumption that we would begin our meal with a glass of champagne (21 euros per glass was not mentioned), when we declined a brief sales pitch followed, this was the beginning of a very negative experience. We waited another 20 minutes at least with no drinks (after declining the champagne) for any water or menu and this continued for everything and was more like being ignored than relaxed service. The table still wasn’t made up for our colleague until food arrived and unused glasses were not cleared away throughout. Our beer was served in glasses marked alcohol free which the waitress commented on (confirming our alcoholic pilsner was correct), but then when we asked for three more they came out alcohol free. When we pointed this out the waitress was visibly annoyed and marched off to finish what she was doing and then tried to change only one glass at a time before eventually/ reluctantly changing all three (one of which that had about 1/3 drunk was charged in full). The food by contrast was good but again was followed by sales pitches for both dessert and expresso, by then we were desperate to leave as the front of house staff were so pretentious, pushy and incompetent. If you can then go and sit in the kitchen and eat as any joy from eating the nice food is killed by front of house. Worst experience in a long time."
