"Kurtosh is something I had been meaning to try for so so long! From outside it really looks like such a sweet and warm cafe, we just had to try it all out. We ordered the caramelised hazelnut kurtosh and boy was it delicious! The only thing... it honestly took forever for us to be served. Apart from this, I loved the array of sweet treats they had on sale. The range included baked cheesecake, to gluten free cakes, to brownies, to sponges... and I wanted to try so so so many of them! The Kurtosh however was extremely filling, and we actually couldn't even finish it. The kurtosh was delicious, warm, and sweet which was so perfect for the cold weather outside. I definitely want to come back and try some of their other toppings! :)

"The Cupcake Room always delivers the most delicious cupcakes, with the prettiest decorations. I keep coming back again and again over many years and it just occurred to me I've never written a review! Extra points go to them for being completely nut free so all those kids with life altering nut allergies can have a treat without the danger and stress. A to this friendly team keep up the great work!"

"The brother or sister of Café Oratnek, this café can be found on Bourke street in Surry Hills. I went mid week so it wasn't too busy and so I was pretty lucky to be visiting on this day. Similar menu to that of Oratnek, it has lovely Japanese inspired dishes and lots of matcha. The popular dish is the katsu sandwich, but having eaten this before, the linguini took my fancy. It was flavoured with natto, okra, shisho, shallot, sesame, nori, soy and topped with a poached egg. It was absolutely delicious. I enjoyed the flavours. It was a little small possibly and would have loved another spoonful. I also got a matcha lamington which I took home to eat. A lovely flavor and light sponge. Staff were absolutely lovely!

"Came for dinner after having breakfast and loving it. Great atmosphere, music and (again) very good service. Food was cooked perfectly, full of flavour and nicely presented. On top of it all the concept of the place (non for profit) is quite unique. A must!"

"What’s not to love about Kurtosh? Lots of choices, great classics and some interesting combos, plus you can get whatever size cut you want, which makes it great to sample a number of different options. Of the items we had, the espresso butter almond chocolate roulade was definitely the winner. It was pretty busy on Sat night, so you’ll have to be patient to wait for a table."

"Trying to visit the cafe on a weekend can end up in waiting in a queue. However coming in on a weekday, like we did for this visit, can also result in potentially waiting for a table or certain meals no longer being available for the day. But that's what you get when you've got a great cate, with friendly service, yummy food and coffee!<br>
I had the tofu scramble on this visit, I wasn't sure what I wanted and the waitress recommended the dish - thought I'd try something different.<br>
I'm so glad I did, the tofu scramble was amazing! Like holy shit the flavours were amazing (Asian style spices and the aroma was incredible), and you really cannot taste any tofu. Sometimes trying something you normally wouldn't order pays off!<br>
The coffee here is always delicious, and I'm definitely going back for more tofu scramble.<br>

"We dropped in on a Tuesday morning. Oilá no crowd. <br>
The prices are amazing really, $7.50 for a full egg and cheese burger. I had their acai muesli which was quite refreshing in its lustrous semi frozen purple puddle. Coffee decent. <br>

"This place is a necessity. It’s truly a diamond in the the rough amidst an ever growing city, yet a city with even fewer 100% vegan cafes than there used to be getting a convenient, healthy and delicious (vegan) meal has never been more essential in this city. You can tell this place is built on a passion. The food says it all. Tasty, fresh, thoughtful and original yet mixed with classic veganized favourites done really well. The staff are always friendly and helpful and patient which makes the atmosphere very comfortable and easy. Everything you could want in a city cafe. We found out about Shift Eatery in it’s first week of opening we’ve been adoring customers ever since. Now we’ve moved out of Sydney but we still make sure we visit at every opportunity we have. The Myshroom Toastie, Ruben’s brother Steve the bagels are some of my most ordered yummies but pretty much every time I find it hard decide out of all the goodness! I love everything ! And now even more dessert choices ! Man! I wish we lived nearby again ! Or maybe you guys should just open up more locations !! Thank you for existing Shift Eatery and providing us with so many wholesome, ethical, tasty comforting meals and super delicious treats!"
