"Food is very fresh and tasty, however somewhat pricy. I was dining at this restaurant almost weekly and last time I dined with a friend, we ordered an appetizer and 1 main course to share. Waiter asked if we would like an extra salad (which only consisted of a few pieces of lettuce with dressing , and actually wound up charging us almost $5.00 for this. (Note that we dined at this restaurant weekly and pretty much knew the staff by name!!! We didn't say a word; however we have not been back since!!"

"Our boys came home for spring break from college for a few days and requested Village Tavern for Sunday Brunch before heading back. They enjoyed their prime rib 12 oz, looked wonderful. Hubby and I not so much- we had corn beef and hash and spinach and Mushroom omelette. The potatoes got sent back as they were cold and the new ones weren’t that hot but had to eat. They lacked seasoning and the onions were too cooked down, almost burnt tasting. Hubby told me later his wasn’t like the week prior as we ate their the Sunday prior. He had the same thoughts about the potatoes and for his dish the potatoes were the star of the dish, they also overcooked 1 of the two eggs so not over easy. So overall I think the chef/kitchen was off Sunday. Waiter was great!"

"This is a great spot with a welcoming staff and cozy interior that makes you feel right at home. Everything we tasted was freshly made and rich in flavor and texture. The calamari with shrimp and zucchini was perfectly battered and fried and was some of the best we've had. The braised veal stuffed ravioli was decadent with a velvety filling and crunchy pancetta topping. The thin crust pizza was also great with a crunchy crust, sweet sauce and deliciously salty mozzarella. This is probably our new go to pizza spot, that's how good it was. We look forward to trying the rest of the menu and recommend this neighborhood gem to anyone serious about good Italian food."
