"Mama's Kitchen was a relative late comer to this new HK Food Court and is located at the corner near the washrooms. It specializes in Shanghainese and Szechuan cuisines. In my opinion, the choices and quality of food served here are a notch better and higher than what you might expect from a food court.I've ordered 3 times so far. Both the lady and man who took my orders were exceptionally courteous and accommodating. They would make recommendations without putting unnecessary pressure. Not sure how long the promotion would continue, but during all my visits any formal entrée would come with 2 servings of rice and a choice of either cold drink or Haagen-Dazs ice cream bar. I’ve yet to take up on the ice cream – unless I’m ready to have dessert before a meal! Regardless, it really “sweetened” the deal and by all means a nice gesture. We have both carried out and eaten in; and unlike many, the bowls for eating-in are better in quality and reusable. Just be nice and return to them after you’re done. As for carryout orders, all dishes were nicely packed, and noodle and soup in separate containers. They did make one big mistake of forgetting the rice, resulting in a savory dish without anything to go with; however, they quickly made up their error by sincere apologies and promise a complimentary lunch entrée on future visit – which they DID fulfill!!Now a few notes on the few dishes that we have tried: Fried Yellow Croaker Sprinkled with Seaweed $13.99. This is one of a kind dish. Excellent! Just make sure you eat as soon as served. A carryout order would be a disservice to this delightful dish. Double-cooked Sliced Pork with Leek $12.99. Nicely executed. These pork belly slices go very well with leek. Very appetizing. I would love to have it on any given day. Yellow Croaker Fish Noodle Soup $9.99. Great value for a seafood dish. However, the soup was a bit too fishy for me. I need more rice wine and ginger! Shanghai Style Spicy Noodle Soup $8.99. Good. The diced bean curds together with spicy soup and noodle are very addicting and satisfying. You need a spoon to gather enough of these diced bean curbs in one bite! [Exclusive] Shrimp Fried Rice $8.99. A unique spin of fried rice by adding pork floss (pork-sung) to the mix. A bit ad hoc. I liked it but my wife wasn’t too thrilled. So YMMV. Shanghai Style Fried Pork Chop $3.99. This was an add-on recommended for my spicy noodle soup. Crispy and great tasting. My cut was sizable and had 95% meat and 5% bone. I have only good thing to say about this small plate, especially after the owner took off $1 as part of making his recommendation ?Oh and for what it’s worth I love their printed receipts – the itemized dishes in Chinese are a delight to look at ?. This is becoming one of my favorite stalls inside the HK Food Court, along with Lan Zhou Ramen and Taipei Hang."
