"I wandered in wanting a snack, but found the staff didn 't know what was vegan their menu only has a symbol for 'vegetarian '. One item (a brownie) had 'vegan ' in the description and the waitress said it wasn 't, which was confusing! Also things like the apple pie were apparently not vegan. So my options were limited, but in the end I got a nice turmeric latte with coconut milk and an acai whip with fruit. It was nice sitting at the wooden bench out the back in the sun, watching the ocean. It 's table service only, and I waited ages for the acai whip, but I was on a long weekend chilling out so it didn 't matter. The only other disappointment was that the acai whip came in a disposable cup (with 'compostable ' spoon I 've heard these actually take ages to decompose) even if you 're eating in. All in all, not really a vegan vibe here, but good enough if you 're in the area, and it 's a nice setting, with no traffic, and an ocean view out the back."

"Just wanted to say thank you!!! I called up seeing if you could accommodate me being that I am Coeliac and was told by the chef personally on the phone that you have separate fryer and gluten free batter and crumbs- this was music to my ears. I didn't end up having battered or crumbed, instead going for the grilled option with rice and salad and it was absolutely delicious. Yummy flavors, super fresh and all round a really good takeaway meal that I could enjoy. Happy customer"

"Wow! Such an amazing place. Food was awesome and the service from our waiter, Marko, was first class. He pointed us in the right direction for the wine and also the choices for food! As it was lunchtime we preferred to have many of the small plates instead of larger plates as we aren’t big eaters. they were all delicious! And I just have to say that I don’t know many restaurants in Australia that are literally in a pavilion on the beach with this view, amazing ambiance, great service and so many taste sensations! Rick shores is a class act! Don’t miss going here if you are on the Gold Coast!"

"Awesome seafood and amazing view! It was great to have the window view and enjoy the super fresh seafood and pizza! Busy but all the staffs are make sure your food and drinks are well prepared and served on time! When the sun went down, wind blowed the window, they will help to close and lock all the windows. "I must admit I would never choose to go to a fish and chip shop given the choice but one of daughters was visiting so..... The place had a few tables inside and on a stinking hot day it was mercifully air conditioned The gentleman who took the order was very pleasant and even offered a mix of the salads with my grilled barramundi The others both had gold band snapper, one grilled one with tempura batter, with chips The fish was beautifully fresh, moist and full of flavour Given the chef was Japanese the tempura batter was perfect consistency The tartare sauce was excellent The chips were some of the best we've eaten My salads of organic tofu and vegetables, and curry cauliflower were both crunchy and beautiful tastes and textures Both the person who took the order and the chef enquired as to our satisfaction with the food. I am now a convert to fish and chips, at Oceans at least!"

"After seeing reviews about this cafe I was really wanting to try somewhere new but still close to home. This restaurant was such a lovely surprise! I loved everything about this cafe! The decor was lovely, the coffee was really good and nice and strong! I had the Rosemary and thyme mushrooms with goats fetta and my husband had bacon & eggs with a side of chorizo. The brunch bowls also looked amazing! Now I am a big fan of anything with mushrooms but hand on my heard this is the best mushrooms on toast I have ever eaten! I can't wait to go back and have exactly the same again! Love at first bite! So excited to find this place and so close to home"

"I went to the recently opened Broadbeach Fat Chicken expecting a nice tasty takeaway meal how wrong I was! Whilst the chips were hot and ridiculously generous the Chicken was awful! It was nearly cold, dry and tasteless! You would be better to buy a Chicken in a bag from Coles or Woolies. I'll never return!"
