"I come here to eat 1 3 times a year whenever I visit Goderich. Love the food, and still do!My last visit, we came at 7:30pm for dinner. I didn't know they close at 8pm. Did the hours change? I know I've been here to eat in the past and it was later.Anyway, the food was great as per usual, but we kind of felt rushed out the door. Initially we could tell when we ordered, she felt like that she had to move quickly. No real small talk, just take the order and rush back.The waitress also worked extremely quick in clearing out table, getting our bill which was fine! No issue there.It wasn't until after paying, we got up to leave and was followed by the waitress until we went out the door. As we were walking out, we joked that they must really want us out! Sure enough as soon as we walk out the door, we hear the door lock.We just laughed it off. We weren't offended but it was borderline rude.I took someone who has never been to West Street Willy's and yes, we had a good meal. But it left my first time guest with the that memory. While it was a bit funny, it kind of sucked! Because I normally tell people/recommend coming here."

"Beautiful location at sunset. Busy patio on summer weekends but our wait wasn't very long and they have an abundance of staff which was refreshing! The fresh perch tacos were delicious 5 out of the seven of us ordered and loved it! The pomme frites with garlic aioli was heavenly. It's a beautiful old building to walk through as well.Please don't be mortified... The ketchup was not for the tacos. Lol"

"My wife and I ate here during a recent visit to Goderich. We always make a point of having lunch at this restaurant when we don’t arrive on a day it is closed (which happened to us once last year). We both ordered the battered perch, which comes with a copious amount of fries and some very decent coleslaw. I ordered the large plate, which has five pieces of perch while my wife ordered the small plate, which has three pieces. Although it seemed to me that the meal was every bit as good as the last time we had visited (last year at around the same time of the year) my wife said she was a little disappointed this time around. Interestingly, this time there was a drink menu at the table; beer, coolers and wine. There was no such menu on our last visit. When I asked our server if they had regained their liquor license he said he was fairly new there but as far as he was aware they had never lost it. That was something I had assumed from our visit last year due to seeing neither a drink menu nor anyone drinking alcohol. On a later visit to our table our server said he was told that they had indeed never lost their license but that there was a time before he started working there that the owner stopped advertising the drinks because of “abuse.” I wasn’t sure what that meant but I left it at that. In any case it was nice to be able to order a beer (in my case a Guinness) to drink while eating my fish and chips. Highly recommended."
