"We'd driven to the city to see the inspiration for the famous song "smoke on the water" and decided to eat lunch at the casino. I'd say the food was excellent but expensive (but the exchange rate is very low just now). Although we ate outside, if you dine here, you simply must go inside to see the bar and the casino. It is amazing. We ate salads which were hearty and beautifully presented, drank a beer and sat back and watched the people go by. If you like a high end-ish lunch, people watching and a bit of musical legend thrown in, you will love it here! If I wasn't driving I would have returned in the evening for cocktails and a try of my luck in the casino!"

"We wanted a small snack and asked for one pizza for my wife and i and they told me we had to order a salad also. The pizza was good and the salad was fresh. It was a reasonable price."

"Nous sommes montés jusqu'à Caux, sous la neige, dans de magnifique paysage. Là-haut, grand dépaysement, vue magnifique sur le lac, et joli chalet.Mais à l'intérieur rien de très chaleureux. Décor et accueil austère.La carte n'est pas très variés. Les plats sont corrects, gras et pas très copieux.Bref, bien mais pas top !"

"Back in Montreux and we headed straight for this authentic, excellent value restaurant. We have an apartment here it is an expensive town. In fact, it rather prides itself on being expensive. So this place is a find! Get over the fact that it...is also a betting shop and that the other customers tend to be a little bit old and definitely local. The lady behind the bar is great and the food is tasty almost rustic. I think the owner tries to trick foreign tourists into buying a salad as a starter. For the second time, having agreed to a main course coming with a salad, we were both served salads as starters that we hadn 't ordered. Of course, this could be a simple misunderstanding but I rather like the idea that this is her little trick. The salads are very good and, at 6 Swiss francs for two, must be the cheapest con ever! This is the only place where anyone can afford to drink pints in Montreux. We have tried every restaurant in Montreux this is the only one I look forward to coming back to. I know that many of our friends would not be seen dead here. It just isn 't ritzy enough. But please try it just once. It is a very old café and is the sort of place that is being pushed out by big chains. Montreux will be a poorer place when this venerable institution finally closes."

"For $15 you expect consistancy at a bare minimum. Burger: fail, Fries: good, Value: poor. Pick up a sandwich at any pastry shop instead for something really tasty for less."

"We went to a drink there and eat something in the first night we reached montreux. at the beginning we had a few cocktails, they were excellent and well done. (gin tonic and montreux mule) to eat we had burger with fritten. the meat was well cooked. I really liked it. also French riders were good. the menu has a good selection of foods and drinks, so they should find something they like. before we decided to have another round cocktails and we left the place very happy."
